So, let's extend the English-laden libretto to accommodate an hour's music, adding maybe a couple of sopranos, lyric and mezzo, and a counter-tenor Q (as a John de Lancie) personality, like a flamboyant bisexual, manly, without doubt: he'd add some misogynistic spice to the starship's interpersonal relations.
We could do with an orchestra of both traditional and electronic instruments and a dynamite percussion section. Perhaps filmed or direct-to-video? Distributed via Area23?
Here's an example I found of sopranos, doned with tin-foil
headdresses, singing The Flower Duet from composer Léo Delibes opera, Lakmé, first performed 1883.
