I think they knew they were doing fiction.

The documentary "The Tilman Story" pretty much says what's up without explicitly saying so. I mean when the damn coroner who examined his body said it's close ranger murder, you know something is up.
The "we covered up the friendly fire" is the ultimate example of limited hangout.

As Peter Dale Scott would say, a "meta play from the deep state", where each party doesnt know what the other is doing(or sometimes, not knowing they are involved in a conspiracy)

US says Taliban who shot down US helicopter dead
Breaking news
The Taliban insurgents who shot down a US military helicopter, leaving 30 American troops dead, have been killed, a US commander has said.
General John Allen, US forces commander in Afghanistan, told a Pentagon news conference those responsible had been killed in an air strike.
The 30 American deaths were the largest single US loss of life in the decade-long conflict.
The dead included Navy Seals, US Air Force personnel and other groups

Makes you wonder exactly how they identified "those responsible".
MacCruiskeen wrote:The return of the remains in flag draped coffins to the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, possibly today, was denied media coverage because given the nature of the attack there were "no identifiable remains" of these servicemen, Pentagon spokesman Marine Col David Lapan told reporters during an off camera briefing.
Ah, that makes perfect sense. They are returning something that either doesn't exist at all or is entirely unidentifiable. Or both.
"So you see, a McGuffin is nothing at all."
Nordic wrote:Let me get this straight. They cannot identify the Navy Seals remains because apparently the Taliban now have some sort of magic RPG that turns over 30 guys in an enormous Chinook into some kind of primordial DNA-free goo, but they did know exactly which "insurgent" pulled the trigger for said magic shot, tracked him for two days, shot him dead with an F-16 and then made an astonishing positive I.d. of HIS body!
Yeah! That's it!
You just couldn't make this shit up.
But why should they put any real work into their little fictions? The "press" will pass on anything they say and sell it for them as "what really happened". Hollywood will further back this up with glorified portrayals of the fictions, further solidifying the mythology for generations to come.

Stands to reason sooner or later the locals would get lucky (after making their luck by guessing/finessing the route the copter would take. maybe they even called in a tip on a certain house, and had a good idea which direction it would come from). As for the state of human remains, consider... this copter blew up in the air, full of fuel and fell who knows how many meters dead through the air, then lay on the ground probably still burning. Then a recovery team had to get into the "hot" location that could have had taliban snipers all over the place. What a mess!

Body parts. Dental records. DNA. There's absolutely no way that such an incident would have vaporized or liquified over 30 large muscular human bodies in their full combat gear. No fucking way.

"Due to the catastrophic nature of the crash, the remains of our fallen service members will be returned to the US via Dover AFB in unidentified status, until they can be positively identified by the Armed Forces Mortuary Affairs Office at Dover," another Pentagon spokesman, Navy Capt Jane Campbell said in a statement later.
"Because the remains are unidentified at this point, next-of-kin are not in a position to grant approval for media access to the dignified transfer," he said.
Therefore, in accordance with the policy of the Department of Defence, no media coverage of the arrival and dignified transfer is permitted, Campbell said.

what would I be joking about? Are you saying they're lying and that these were the same people that went into the OBL compound?
I don't know, do we really know what to expect from a high explosive hitting a fast moving helicopter in flight which then crashed at high speed into the ground, and burnt and smolder for how many hours before recovery team got there? Do we really know what would be left of people after that horror?
What would be the point of lying about this? I guess I'm a little confused as to what the angle is here. I do find it odd that the father of one of the dead said his son was an E6, as I was under the impression that Special Forces all had officer ranks. but what do I know? nothing.
Weirdness #1:
There were eye witness reports that multiple seals died in the helicopter that exploded outside of the compound during the supposed raid on Bin Laden's supposed compound.
Weirdness #2:
All the phony claims about Bin Laden and his wife being armed during the supposed raid, and later retracted. Almost like they were making it up as they went along because they all didn't have their stories straight.
Weirdness #3:
Bin Laden's extremely convenient "burial at sea," supposedly in accordance with Muslim law, but laughably NOT in accordance with any actual Muslim law.
Weirdness #4:
Why on earth would the "mastermind" of Al Kaider NOT be taken into custody and tortured, erm ... I'm sorry, I mean subjected to stressful cross-examination strategies, in order to find out if he's ... you know ... masterminded any new evil plots that the civilized world needs to be worried about.
Weirdness #5:
To date, no journalists have spoken to any of the seals supposedly involved in the alleged raid, and no names have been put forth, which I suppose is sort of understandable from the perspective of wanting to keep them "under cover," but then why was the specific group (the suddenly famous seal team 6) immediately identified in the first place? Like everything else, it makes no sense.
Weirdness #6:
The largest mass casualty event in the entire decade of the war just happens to involve the same seal team that supposedly killed Bin Laden and conveniently buried him at sea.
Weirdness #7:
All 22 bodies of these seals are supposedly unidentifiable.
So basically, we're asked to believe that Bin Laden and 22 seals from the team that supposedly killed him are all dead, but we have no bodies to identify. Zero. Not Bin Laden, or the seals.
All in all, there are way too many oddities/coincidences here.
Way too many.
