It was a slightly unnerving walk to the Saloon tonight, wondering if I might get hit with sniper fire. One of my poor neighbors, whose windows face the building suspected to house the gunman, closed her curtains and hid in the dark.

Happy Halloween.

SEATTLE -- Police remain camped out around a downtown Seattle housing building after a woman was grazed by a bullet believed to have been fired from inside the building.
The woman was found injured near 3rd Avenue and Yesler around 5:00 p.m, shot in the leg.

Police focused their search for the shooter on the Frye Hotel [apartments, you star reporters], a low income housing building at 223 Yesler Way.
No one has been arrested yet.

Police closed 3rd Avenue, James Street, Jefferson and Yesler to both vehicles and pedestrians. Officers armed with rifles and other weapons stationed themselves in the area during the search. SWAT units are also on scene in armored vehicles.

King County Metro has rerouted buses to 2nd Avenue between Madison and Washington. Trolleys are using First Avenue to Jackson Street.
KING 5's Linda Brill reported she heard about six gunshots.

The injured woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

That's a bit too-close for comfort.

That is unnerving. Reminds me of a song I haven't heard in probably 20 years.

And on topic: Jameson sure is one smooth bastard.

I was very sorry to hear of your unsettling incident Willow.

I would say keep an eye out for twitching windows, but aren't we all paranoid enough already?

I'll have a nice cup of tea before my head explodes, thank you.

Mmm, delicious.

Thanks very much!

Everyone needs love and support, don't they?

How did you know? That's my favorite!

Hammer of Los wrote:*One more thing. I must acknowledge here that I might have done more to help with RA/MC victim's advocacy. I am truly sorry Willow. I am afraid. I am afraid of those who would do such things to children. I am mortally afraid of them. I pray for the armor of God to sustain me. I used to be invisible, but I am becoming more visible. The idea that I might in any way shape or form, even the odd forum post here, come to their attention scares me. That is my excuse. That is my shame. That is my cowardice. In my defence, I will say I fear not only for myself, but moreso for the little ones.

Thank you for your honesty. It is helpful to be supported even through intent. People who derive pleasure from torturing children are indeed frightening, even more so because of how terrified they are themselves.

Here's to the growth of the movement! It will require and in the end should generate a reduction in fear. (Ah, good ole' hope!)

I don't believe you have wronged any on these forums, PW.

But I forgive you anyway!

If you make me a nice cup of tea that is, or fetch me a fresh glass of full fat milk. Mmmm. Yummy!

I became teetotal recently, as well as becoming vegetarian.

It's rather fun purifying yourself. Everyone should try it.

But home is the best place to be, you are right about that.

ps I shall raise a hopeful toast to canadian_watcher's swift return.

First of all, I want to apologize in case I triggered any survivor who reads the board. What I posted above is sometimes used as a call-back phrase. It means it's time to contact a handler or go back in, as it were.

When I am overcome with stress as I was last night this part will take over and repeat that phrase, for her it's more of a plea to end the pain, to be let go or be terminated.

I've had far too much pain in my life lately, and am not doing well. Focusing on the never ending stream of human depravity is not helping as are some other current situations that I need to address, so I'll be taking some time away from the board.

I'll be posting on various blogs, well maybe, I don't know. I have to figure out what the hell I'm doing here anymore.

Love to all.

Ms Willow, I, for one, would be very sad, were you to stop your participation here. Your posts have been important in assisting me to more fully understand a wide range of issues. Many of which, as a male, I find uncomfortable. Whatever you decide, I'd like to Thank You. May your journey be peace-filled.

What say some of us grinches & misfits get together for a holiday party?
I'm planning to spend about a week in Seattle later this month (visiting my mom).

I didn't understand the import of those words when I first read them, PW. I hope you're doing okay.

Thanks. I was very seriously, for lack of a better word, triggered, although it was more than that, long overdue recovery work built to a crisis due to my own neglect, and then was exacerbated by current circumstances and a bit of external manipulation. SCARY.

Much better now!
