I'm a little weirded out by this one. A little while ago my son shouted, in response to my my query, that it was '3:33!'. At that very moment both of my grandbabies answered different math questions out loud with '33'. Where's my tinfoil hat?

Do the numbers find us or do we find them?

Perhaps in some ways we ARE them?

I couldn't possibly tell you about all my synchs.

But here is just one.

I recently read Grant Morrison's new book. Towards the end he talks about the moment when his Eagle Award arrives. Grant Morrison opened the carton to find to his disappointment that the statuette is broken and missing a wing.

An hour after I read this I wander into my garden for a breath of fresh air.

And there in the middle of the lawn is a bird's wing. Just one wing, likely from a pigeon. There aren't many eagles in South London.

Probably the cats got to it.

Funnily enough, me and Grant share the cat man do revelation.

I posted that psyops movies go back atleast to 1938 with 'The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse.'

And then Project Willow started a thread about...the clitoris!

I agree. For a while I had two movies at the top of my Netflix queue and only recently watched them. I probably put one at the top around 3 January and the other may have been up earlier or later but only became available on 13 January (that is the shipping date), the day of the Costa Concordia disaster. What is interesting is that one of the movies involves a cruise ship off the coast of Italy and the other one involves A CRUISE SHIP OFF THE COAST OF ITALY! And there's more, both movies reference the city of Naples and the captain of the crashed cruise ship is from Naples. And the names of those movies? And the Ship Sails On and Film Socialisme. Now you know the rest of the story.

I recently posted this in the There just aren't that many things thread, but it's a better fit here:

Miss Dazzling and I were talking about movies this past Sunday during brunch, and I couldn't remember Chloë Sevigny's name. I kept saying things like ... "you know, she was Patrick Bateman's secretary in 'American Psycho' ... she was in 'Gummo', and 'Kids' ... oh, oh, she gave Vincent Gallo the hardcore blowjob in 'Brown Bunny!'" My gal knew exactly who I was talking about, but was inexplicably sharing my inability to access the information.

20 minutes later we were walking through the East Village and who walks by?

Chloë freaking Sevigny.

Check please!

It was 1978, I was located in Jakarta working on Indonesia's newly operational domestic satellite communication system and the contract was running out, so I sent my resume to a number of oil companies thinking that maybe one or more of them would want to update their com. systems using the satellite. I received a invitation from Mobil Oil to go to their field in northern Sumatra for a interview. While there, I was at a drilling rig when my Mobil host said to me, "Ben, if we had a blowout on this rig tomorrow, we would be in big trouble communications wise trying to organize the specialist teams and put it out, that's why we want to go satellite.

That same day (Saturday), I flew back to Jakarta. On the Monday morning I was listening to the radio news when it was announced that a Mobil oil rig in Sumatra had a blow out and was on fire. Within days I received a call from Mobil offering me the job of getting a Satellite terminal installed asap.

Oh,.. and I took up the offer...and nah, I'm quite sure it wasn't MIHOP, the cost to put it out was huge and took three months.

That really made me laugh.

Sorry Hugh.

Nice to see you around, Pan. Sorry if we have fallen out in the past.

I've liked you ever since I knew you were a d&d buff.

Just watch out. You don't want to see me wield my cudgel.

China Garden Restaurant, Monterey, California, Thursday evening, Jan 26/12. Chinese-language TV playing loudly, a big stage-show spectacle, I imagine it was a New Year celebration. A comedian is teasing some kids on the stage.

M: What the hell are they DOING back there?
Ash: That's the TV.
M: Oh. Haha. (Looks over his shoulder.) Big show.
(Choir starts singing a baroque-sounding piece.)
Ash: They sound like the Swingle Singers.
M: The Sweeney Sisters?
Ash: No, the Swingle Singers. Doo-be-doo-be-doo bop-doo-doo bop-bow Bach, that shit. Did your parents ever play it at cocktail parties? Mine did.
M: No, my parents were more Ferrante and Teicher.
Ash: Is it Ferrante and TYK-er or Ferrante and TEICH-er? I was never sure.
M: Tei-CHer like cheese.
Ash: I only know their names from the theme from Exodus. Ever see that 'Newhart' where the two Darryls play 'Exodus' on duelling pianos? Loved that.
M: I did see it. Funny.

Crashing chords of the theme from Exodus play on the TV as rhythmic gymnasts run onto the stage.

Ash: Holy fuck. Now there's a synch for you. We go zigzag to the theme from 'Exodus'... and BOOM there it is. It's a rip in the matrix. It's a touch on your sleeve.
M: Ahh, you and that mental, druggy magical thinking shit.
Ash: Ahh, you wouldn't know a diamond if you held it in your hand.
M: Who said that?
Ash: Steely Dan.
M: Steely Dan were great. Think I should ask them to turn the TV down?
Ash: You don't think that was weird?
M: Weird coincidence, but just a coincidence.
Ash: I think the Kush is attuning us to the great wheel.
M: I think the Kush is attuning YOU to the great wheel in your fucking spinny head.
Ash: It must suck to be you.
M: You have no idea. (Jeremy Irons voice.)

And... SCENE.
