Hey all! I been gone for a little bit. It's been fascinating to see how seemingly un-fascinating twenty-twelve has been. The sharks are still snacking, the Western backed autocrats are still a slaughterin' and the technozoid masses are still atwitterin'. Since I joined in 2007 I slowly started to take interest in a wider language and narrative not necessarily dealing with a+b coverups and
corruption overload. But more over the 'synchromystical' and dark sense of humor the flow of things tends to exhibit. (The Cory Lidle crash for example) Society's self panopticon has reached a nice little plateau it seems. Who needs big brother government to force "RFID chips and the mark of the beast in the wake of a false flag" when every hipster and yuppy in America will gladly wait in line at Apple for the new iChip. #lulz #REALLY? Just a cloud computing app away from true bliss!(all set to a nice jangly indie rock anthem) But it can't be a true soma induced pacified slumber...that just wouldn't be right. The dream of a post Bushian society where Obama can tuck us in at night, we're all connected via facebook apps and Hollywood can reshape our childhood silver screen memories just won't do. The anon script kiddies and Occupiers can't have all the fun.
No we need to get back to the real, real. The (old) normal. RACE! 2012...or 1992? You didn't think 'they' or it or whom would let us off the hook that easily? You didn't think the intentional stoking and riling up of paranoid right wing America would subside, or was all for naught?

The image of a white child with a grinning smarmy white yuppy dad pointing to the "scary black man photo" in a video seen by zillions of people...I think it fits into what I'm about to dive into.

And thus here we are, getting back to what America has always been about no matter what technocratic 'post racial' syrup we slather all over the old beast. aMERiKABA is a grand old tune, that sadly can't shake a few racist banjo diddy's. If tens of thousands of years can be brought back and a Wooly Mammoth revived, it's apparent a mere 150 years or 50 years can be reanimated.
I like to think that because of the lax slumber we've been in since the aristocrats performance on vesey and church, Western society is to "meh" to do anything more than vent via tweets.
I just genuinely worry that all these things we've seen since 2008 is paving the way for some really nasty shit. Stoking the right wing, polarizing the disenfranchised, further isolating impoverished cities of all ethnicities.

If Twin Lakes is a trial balloon, I am genuinely worried. Because if a random domestic tragedy can be used as the kickoff for this zeitgeist, than skittles at 7-11 might as well be the weight of 9/11.
And when you have a state attorney general who can be woken out of bed and brought down to squash said tragedy in a sleepy quaint town, my goodness; what can be done if something *actually* planned and ill conceived could be unleashed? Something (truly) wicked this way comes? Perhaps the ominous droning and twangy desert score of David Lynch would be perfect for this snapshot in time.

America...the cheaper seats in the balcony are partially obstructed, but there's still a good view

Trayvon Martin's Death Extends Sanford's Sordid Legacy
The founder wanted to ship blacks to the Congo. Baseball's Jackie Robinson was run off. Now a slain 17-year-old is the Florida town's latest racial calamity.

—By Adam Weinstein

In some sense, it's history you could recount from many places in America: It could be Miami, where Trayvon Martin came up, and where rioters scorched the streets in the 1980s over black motorists killed by police. It could be Prince Edward County, Virginia, near where George Zimmerman grew up, and where the county board of supervisors once abolished public education rather than comply with integration. Or it could be southern Wisconsin, where not long ago a noose and racial threats turned up on a college campus, and where earlier this month another gun owner killed a black man allegedly in self-defense.

But when it comes to a history of fear, racism, and violence, Sanford, Florida, has a particularly fraught past, one that traces right up to the night a month ago when an unarmed black kid was shot dead on one of its streets, and his killer went free.
In 2010, the son of a Sanford cop assaulted a homeless black man, and officers on the scene let him go free.

Long before the live oaks and Spanish moss gave way to interstate highways and box stores, Sanford began as a citrus town in the 1870s, conceived by a New England tycoon. Henry Shelton Sanford, who had ingratiated himself to Abraham Lincoln and served as Lincoln's ambassador to Belgium for eight years, had the town built by Swedish laborers. Though the citrus empire he dreamed of didn't exactly flourish, Sanford proved instrumental to promoting trade with the Belgian-controlled territory of Congo—which included his vision of promoting Congo as a place to ship America's freed blacks. The African locale, he said, represented an outlet "for the enterprise and ambition of our colored people in more congenial fields than politics." A Congo peopled with African Americans could be "the ground to draw the gathering electricity from that black cloud spreading over the Southern states."
Read our explainer and latest updates on the Trayvon Martin killing.

The back-to-Congo movement never took off, but Sanford's Florida hamlet did. In 1911, it absorbed the town of Goldsborough, an autonomous black community. The merger was hostile, according to local historian Francis Oliver. "[Sanford] never paid restitution to the people who lost their jobs and asked for money because they...no longer [had] jobs," she said. "The mayor didn't have a job, City Council people didn't have a job, the postmistress didn't have a job, the jailers didn't have a job, the marshal didn't have a job."

That sense of alienation hung in the air for decades. Then Jackie Robinson entered the picture. Before he broke Major League Baseball's race barrier in 1947, Robinson played for a Dodgers farm team in Sanford—but only briefly. His presence in spring training that year so incensed white residents that they accosted the mayor and demanded Robinson's ouster. When the integrated team was physically prevented from taking the field, the Dodgers' owner moved Robinson out of town for his own good. "The Robinsons were run out of Sanford, Florida, with threats of violence," Robinson's daughter would later say.

Soon after, the Dodgers also left town, but the bitter feelings remained. Change came excruciatingly slow to Sanford. This was a community that held on to an archaic law ordering police "to shoot all pigeons on sight" until 1989, according to a St. Petersburg Times news capsule. "Over the years Sanford dug in its feet against change," a local newspaper editor told the New York Times in 1990. "It resisted integration, filling in the public pools rather than integrating them."
"The trust that may have existed is gone," said Sanford's African American city manager.

It may come as no surprise, then, that law and order in Sanford in recent years has been plagued by allegations of racial injustice, and a series of public missteps involving its police department. In 2006 two private security guards—one the son of a Sanford police officer, the other a volunteer for the department—killed a black teen with a gunshot in his back. Even though they admitted to never identifying themselves, the guards were released without charges. Then, in 2010, Justin Collison, the son of a Sanford PD lieutenant, sucker-punched a homeless black man outside a bar, and officers on the scene released Collison without charges. He eventually surrendered after video of the incident materialized online; the police chief at the time was ultimately forced into retirement. "Bottom line, we didn't do our job that night," a police department representative told local news station WFTV of the incident.

As it would turn out, the Sanford patrol sergeant in charge on the night of Collison's assault, Anthony Raimondo, would also be the first supervisor on the scene of Trayvon Martin's shooting death.

"There is no trust, there is no confidence," between African Americans and Sanford authorities, said local NAACP leader Turner Clayton. "It's at an all-time low." Even embattled city manager Norton Bonaparte—who oversees Sanford's police department and is African American—acknowledges this truth. "The trust that may have existed is gone," he said, "so we have to start from ground zero."

Or perhaps it was never really there: Reverend Harry Rucker, pastor of Sanford's First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, told crowds in the 1990s that integration was a mistake, and that anger was the best way to confront racism. "The worst thing that happened to us when they changed our schools [through desegregation], there went our leaders, there went our teachers," he said then. "We never asked for integration. We asked for equality." Rucker is still at First Shiloh today; he has been one of the organizers of the town's rallies for Trayvon Martin.

In those rallies, and in demonstrations around the country in recent days, Americans have been saying "We are Trayvon Martin." In some ways, Sanford's history is all of ours, as well—to be acknowledged, and hopefully to be left behind once and for all.

Ha, yeah I suck at trying to write cryptically poetic.

In a nutshell, I was saying no matter how far we as a Western society come, and how we're told by the media "how far we've come"...from Selma to the Genius Bar...
they like to bring it back "old school". And by old school I mean polarizing and creating heightened racial divide. All the stoking of the gun nut right wingers in recent years by the radio,
MSNBC serving their role, Fox with there's. I remember Rodney King, Katrina and Watts 68' are these bright flashes where America goes "oh, we have racial divides" then goes back to their daily business. Yet it feels like these days the media is going over time artificially creating a wedge. If this is a trial balloon of sorts, I was saying I fear what something really shocking and out of left field would do for racial polarization, fear and anxiety. Often the stuff discussed in parapolitical discussions are often times seemingly planned events; but here you have this sadly everyday random occurrence used as a sort of lightning rod. White nationalists and black militants on one end, stoking the righteous indignation in the middle.

Even articles Im reading about Oakland, trying to drive a wedge between blacks and younger white implants to the area.

I guess my overall thrust is that like the opening to a David Lynch film, there's an eerie calm with something under the surface this year. And I worry one of the themes is something nasty that is as old as America itself rearing it's head in a violent, destructive way.

That does explain why I was unable to find any information about the Twin Lakes project from David Lynch.

I'm interested in cognitive research on racism but have too many other life repair projects in the works. I do suspect that there's a lot of GOP psyoperators who have done detailed research in that field, though, really mapping those dark depths and working out schematics for The Right Buttons To Push. Lee Atwater hinted at it in that Boogie Man documentary, but he was a cagey mammal.

And oh yeah, hell yeah: WELCOME BACK.

Thanks! I didn't hear much about this case til a few days ago, and first thing I heard was about this Twin Lakes neighborhood which resonated with my lifelong David Lynch fascination.

There are so many covered up and mysterious cases of cops killing unarmed black civilians. Recent cases include this one
and here http://www.democracynow.org/2012/3/29/k ... _plains_ny

My fear though is absolutely in the psyop war that may be going on. It's not just the Willy Horton-esque moment in Kony 2012 viral video(point to the evil black man little Timmy!) and the framing of so much(stoking both sides with polarization), or stoking the flames of gun nut right wingers on the fringe. But this being an election year where the poles on the GOP have shifted wayyyy to the right(I still can barely wrap my head around this Santorum guy) it seems like the division is quite strong. With rising gas prices and what could be a faltering economy about to turn really bad, it's never a good recipe. These unplanned events like Crowley-Gates, Katrina and Trayvon Martin are so rich for the media to really hammer home both the stoking of racial divides but also serving to highlight social injustices many people have thought no longer exist

Nowhere else to put this, really, so here you go...
