SANFORD, Florida (CNN) – George Zimmerman told his lawyers that he whispered “punks,” not a racial slur, in the moments before he shot Trayvon Martin, his attorneys told CNN on Thursday.
Some people interpreted the police recording of Zimmerman’s call to 911 as evidence the fatal shooting was racially motivated.
Zimmerman attorneys Hal Ulrig and Craig Sonner told CNN their client told them that he said, “F—ing punks.”
Forensic audio expert Tom Owen, who analyzed 911 recordings, agreed the garbled word that raised controversy was “punks,” not the racial slur some people said they heard
When Owen, chairman emeritus of the American Board of Recorded Evidence, used a computer application to remove cell phone interference, the word became clearer, he said. After discussions with linguists, he said he became convinced that Zimmerman said “punks.”

^^So they went from "fucking cold" to "fucking punks" in the space of less than 24 hours? Am I reading that correctly?

They had two audio experts duel to the death. And yes.

For the record, it sounds like coons to me. But that doesn't imply intent to commit murder per se.

The engineer applied a filter to take out the noise, and cut off the S sound. The background noise that was also cut out left the recording with the appearance of sounding like D or T, which is how you can get "cold" or "coat".

I've listened to the recording half a dozen times and I don't think it's clear one way or the other.

Well then this is a classic case of our ears hear what we are lead to believe OR what we want to hear. And we disseminate each piece of evidence to fit confirmation bias.

Had Zimmerman been videotaped with severe damage to his head and face, with blood all over and security tape of Martin running and tackling him...
people would find a way to say it's all fake and doctored

Had Zimmerman been wearing a KKK outfit telling dispatchers "Im gonna get this n word", people would say its all a big distortion and misinterpretation

That audio has an English "ca" sound regardless what the word is. I don't hear punks.

But again, we've entered this nasty slippery slope where youre going to see more race baiting from the GOP and Tea Party, more race baiting to heighten paranoia and tension with Black America.
Hasn't Santorum twice been caught practically using the n-word on his stump speeches?

What about the cadence issue? If you're agitated and being impatient on the phone, and it's an usually cold(for Florida) late Feb night, you'd have a sort of muttered and curt "fuckin' cold out here'.
However he does say "these assholes always get away" remark before. Was his 'fuckin ???' an addendum to that remark, or an isolated "man its cold out here, I hope the cops hurry".
I know it's goofy to make much adieu over a split second utterance, but I guess the interpretation of that is a deciding factor if the FBI will really get into the case or not.

To me the real question is what did he mean by "these assholes". Did he mean a general grouping of faceless criminals who could be any younger hoodlum?

According to the official story(the media story, not the cop story), Zimmerman began walking toward the direction Trayvon was, told dispatchers he's gonna keep after him,
and then just straight up shot him in some sort of cold blood hate attack.

According to the Zimmerman/cop story, Zimmerman began walking in the direction Trayvon was while on the phone with dispatchers, loses sight of him, returns to his car and is blindsighted by Trayvon who begins to pummel him on the ground. Fearing the head bashing will end in quick permenant brain damage or death, he discharges his weapon to stop the attack.

Did he try and revive Trayvon or see that he was still alive?

A witness nearby claims he saw Trayvon on top of Zimmerman. Others give a different story.

It may seem like a small thing, but it's really huge. We are being trained not to trust the evidence of our own senses, but instead to defer to "experts" with fancy machines to interpret reality for us. To me, that's scary as hell.

Zimmerman did not say, "It's fucking cold." He did not say, "Fucking punks." Soon, no doubt, they'll be claiming that he said, "Fucking criminals," and proceeded to elaborate on the need for more law and order. And some people will believe them, because they're the teevee, and they have Experts with Machines.

He said, "Fucking coons."

That's probably what the whole media circus is about. I really think it's an experiment in exactly this sort of thing, as well as many others. Seeing, again, how far they can push people, what they can get people to swallow, how they can split people into believing two completely different versions of non-reality.

That's part of what they do anyway. Fox "News" versus the so-called "Left" version of, say, Rachel Maddow.

When I go and visit my Dad and stepmom, I see this at work. They literally live in a different world. A world where Bill Clinton raped Monica Lewinsky, and the media has been taken over by Liberals, and, hell, last time I was there I was told that the entire U.S. government had been taken over by socialists.

It's a form of insanity, on a mass scale, perpetuated by the media.

Somewhere, they're enjoying this.

That's an interesting observation. I merely was seeing this as a trial balloon of ratcheting up racial tensions via latching onto a random event(like Rodney King, Katrina, etc)
But that idea of a whole other sort of social experiment *is* intriguing.

Also, why is it people in general that hate Bill Clinton and Obama, don't hate them for the issues leftists raise against them?(8 years of crippling starvation sanctions and carpet bombing on Iraq, mass bombing of Serbia and Kosovo, etc for Obama...and too many things to name for Obama) The conservatives should be LOVING Obama. I know Bill Kristol sure openly does

I honestly couldn't tell what he said from that recording.

"Fucking " something or other, probably starting with c - he may have said "cunts" imo. If so he could be referring to the coppers themselves. 0r young people who have the nerve to wear hoodies and not behave how he sees fit.

Anyway I didn't hear the second word clearly.

However I'm very sure he didn't say "fucking punks". I wouldn't bet that he said "fucking coons" tho he could have - I would bet he didn't say "punks" tho. It didn't sound like "its fucking cold" either.

Any group that cuts itself off from criticism is susceptible to slow grinding insanity and senility. All criticism of this system exists within narrow bands to shuffle an individual from one camp to another, moving the debate forward is never really on the agenda. In many cases the best definition they can create for themselves is being against the guys over there.

To jump into this as quickly as possible, a woman named Hella Hammid proved to be a rather efficient natural remote viewer within the early part of the remote viewing project at Stanford Research Institute in the 1970s.

Hella was an extremely cultured person, a great photographer, and usually a joy to be with.

One day in keeping with a long line of experiments she was participating in, she was given a certain target to remote view. She ultimately sketched a large, hot, steaming teapot with a lid on it, and placed on some kind of crisscrossing tripod support.

However, the designated distant target was a small nuclear reactor.

In standard parapsychological terms, this was a clear miss, and it could be concluded that no remote viewing had taken place, even though she had been very successful in earlier experiments.

Someone (guess who) thought to ask Hella if she had ever seen a nuclear reactor. Except for pictures of nuclear reactor out-buildings, it was thus determined that she had not, nor had she ever studied drawings, photos, or blueprints of nuclear reactor interiors.

So, as an enjoyable outing, we all visited the small nuclear reactor, examined it closely, and then collected schematic examples of other kinds of reactors – which are relatively the same except for size and dimensions. And, when on line, they all produce heat and steam, as well as radiation which must somehow be contained.

At a later date, another nuclear reactor target was sandwiched into her random target pool, and when that target came up she promptly said “Oh, that’s another of those nuclear reactors.”

Armed Neo-Nazis Now Patrolling Sanford, Say They Are "Prepared" For Post-Trayvon Martin Violence

Schoep, whose neo-Nazi group is based in Detroit, tells Riptide the patrols are a response to white residents' fears of a race riot.
A group called the New Black Panther Party recently offered $10,000 for a citizens' arrest of George Zimmerman, Martin's shooter. Schoep said the bounty is a sign that "the possibility of further racial violence... is brimming over like a powder keg ready to explode into the streets."

The patrols are comprised of between 10 and 20 locals and "volunteers" from across the state, including some from Miami, he added. He couldn't go into specifics on what kind of firepower, exactly, the patrols had with them.

"In Arizona the guys can walk around with assault weapons and that's totally legal," Schoep said, referring to the group's patrols of the US-Mexico border. "What I can tell you is that any patrols that we are doing now in Florida are totally within the law."

Asked if the patrols wouldn't just make things worse -- spark a race riot, for instance -- Schoep insisted they were simply a "show of solidarity with the white community down there" and "wouldn't intimidate anybody."

The city of Sanford is preparing for the outcome of the special prosecutor's decision about George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin but has not been charged.

Sanford Mayor Jeff Triplett said on Thursday that the city's emergency management team has met regularly with the U.S Department of Justice to construct a plan. Officials said extra police officers and fire department officials are on standby. Neighboring agencies have also been asked to assist, if needed.

Yes, yes, yes.

My husband's explaining how he would edit a wavefile to change "coons" to "cold". It's trickier than I thought (my own experience is with editing noise and static out of wavefiles) but it's possible, especially if there's a sample of Zimmerman saying "cold" to work from.
