Man behind bars allegedly growls, tries to bite officer (Video)

Posted: Today at 6:25 am EDT Last Updated: Today at 10:07 am EDT

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Officers say a man in police custody has an entire department shocked after he allegedly growled and tried to bite an officer's hand off; an eerie resemblance to the cannibal attack on a South Florida causeway.

Two North Miami Beach officers were eating at a Boston Market in North Miami Beach on Saturday evening, when Brandon DeLeon, a homeless man, walked into the restaurant and began to yell obscenities at them.

DeLeon then threatened to fight the police officers, forcing them to place him under arrest. But it was the events after DeLeon was put into a holding cell that has officers very concerned.

According to an officer's safety bulletin, "While at the holding cell, DeLeon banged his head repeatedly inside the holding cell. DeLeon growled at officers in the booking area like a rabid dog. DeLeon attempted to bite Officer Ruiz's hand off."

There are still Boston Markets?

A couple months ago I saw a flyer on a bulletin board with tear-off phone numbers that was utilizing the "RUN! ZOMBIES!" meme to advertise a local fitness regime. I took a picture but can't find it at the moment.

Anyway, I was already aware of these and similar apps:

Runners to be chased by 'zombies' in Lincolnshire 5k race
Organisers hope it will attract people who are not normally interested in running

Zombies are set to chase runners taking part in a race in Lincolnshire.

The 5k Zombie Run at the Lincolnshire Showground, will involve competitors being pursued by actors playing the living dead to keep them running.

Community groups Active Kids Lincolnshire and Off The Bench are supporting the event, taking place on 14 October.

Matthew Gooding, one of the organisers, said he took the idea from seeing similar events in the US.

Image
Zombie Run is based on a story that the dead are rising and attacking the living

"These sorts of things are quite big in the US, so the idea came across from there," he said.

"As well as trying to beat the clock you've also got to worry about obstacles as well as the living dead, who are going to be hot on your heels.

"I think we will attract a lot of people who aren't particularly into running.

"They might not think to enter the Lincoln 10k but they love the idea of zombies."

'Ultimate survivor'

Racers will be given a zombie utility belt containing three tags which represent three lives, and the zombies will try to steal these.

"Their job is to try and whip those off of you," said Mr Gooding.

"If you can manage to finish the race in a great time but also keep three lives intact you will be crowned the ultimate survivor."

As well as the 5k race for adults, a shorter race will be held for 12 to 16-year-olds.

Future events are also planned for Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield in 2013.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

I don't know about "eating." And I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have heard of this incident a month ago.

New face-eating ‘bath salts’ attack in Louisiana

...

Credeur said that he was working in his yard when Jacquneaux, reportedly upset about a “domestic matter,” attacked him and, in the words of Scott, Louisiana Assistant Police Chief Kert Thomas, “bit a chunk of the victim’s face off.” Credeur defended himself by spraying “wasp spray” into Jacquneaux’s face, ending the attack.

...

Police say that they believe that Jacquneaux was under the influence of drugs at the time of arrest, but failed to conduct blood tests before he was incarcerated. KATC reports that a woman familiar with Jacquneaux indicated that the suspect had been using so-called “bath salts.”

Pair of Lungs Found Discarded on L.A. Sidewalk; Homicide Detectives Investigating

By Simone Wilson Mon., Jun. 11 2012 at 8:30 AM

Another possible chapter in the 2012 Zombie Apocalypse?

A pair of lungs was discovered by the side of the road in unincorporated South Los Angeles near Compton on Sunday afternoon, according to City news Service. A woman walking by the discarded organ reportedly snapped a photo, which she sent to her local sheriff's station later that night.

The case has since been transferred to the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau...

... meaning authorities strongly suspect the lungs could be human (although the L.A. County Coroner's Office says they have "not been examined yet").

...

"It was right there on the sidewalk at the start of a driveway," Lieutenant Jack DeMello tells City News. "You'd think someone would see someone throw it out there."

Yes, yes you would. But amid this grisly new American apocalypse -- crawling with zombies and cannibals and dismembered body parts-- you never know what you'll find on a South L.A. sidewalk on a Sunday afternoon.

That woman saw possible evidence of a homicide/dismemberment and didn't get around to reporting it until "later that night"?!

Sorry, not the point of the post, but I hope she had a really good reason for being too busy to report it on the spot. Or maybe it's just another bit of evidence of how dehumanizing life in L.A. can be...

Absolutely. I saw that too, and thought "WTF?!"

In her defence, she may have reported it right away, then sent the photo later, when asked to do so. ?

That makes sense, 1879. Thanks.

What seems especially bizarre is that these lungs were there for almost an entire day before anyone reported this, according to the article.

Survive the zombie apocalypse in . . . a Hyundai Elantra?

Image

By: Seth Harrison on 6/18/2012

The Hyundai Elantra generally isn't the first thing that comes to mind when asked to recommend a vehicle for surviving the zombie apocalypse. But then again, zombie comics aren't generally among the tried-and-true tools of automotive marketing either.

So Hyundai and the creator of the comic book series The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman, are covering all kinds of new ground by using a new Elantra coupe as the basis for the “Zombie Survival Machine.”

The Elantra coupe Zombie Survival Machine will sport modifications including a custom “zombie plow” with spikes, armored window coverings and a roof hatch that will “allow passengers to shoot at walkers,” according to Hyundai's press release. The vehicle will be unveiled at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Calif.

That zombie plow looks awfully heavy to be on the front of such a low car with small tires.
I'd give it three blocks before it dragged out and became just another zombie bunker.

Not to mention the inevitable added weight of the impaled, struggling zombies.
