Mayday, those are from today? Seriously?

Some hardcore people. I'd have gone to that party, man.

Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher

Can you hear it in the distance
Can you sense it far away
Is it old Rudolph the reindeer
Is it Santa on his sleigh
It's heading up to Easington
It's coming down the Tyne
Oh it's bloddy Maggie Thatcher
And Michael Heseltine

So merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher
May God's love be with you
We all sing together in one breath
Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher
We all celebrate today
'Cause it's one day closer to your death

They've come to raid your stockings
And to steal your Christmas pud
But don't be too downhearted
It's all for your own good
The economic infrastructure
Must be swept away
To make way for call centres
And lower rates of pay

And they've brought their fascist boot boys
And they've brought the boys in blue
And the whole Trade Union Congress
Will be at the party too
And they'll all hold hands together
All standing in a line
'Cause they're privatising Santa
This merry Christmas time

Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Heseltine
You're a tosser, you're a tosser
And you're just a Tory Swine
-I don't like hoodlums.
-That's just a word, Marlowe. We have that kind of world. Two wars gave it to us and we are going to keep it.

The last one is from George Square in Glasgow. The Labour party council warned folk not to attend for "safety reasons", and only about 300 were there, with it being short notice and all. I imagine it'll be bigger come the weekend (not that I approve of celebrating an old ladies' death or anything - goodness me, no. Heaven forfend! Think of her family - we must respect the feelings of her son, the arms dealing international crook, and her daughter, the semi-racist simpleton).

I think the others must be from Brixton and Liverpool where there were also spontaneous parties organised immediately over social media. Attendance looks higher there.

Like I say, I'm not celebrating her death, because the truth is she won. She also outlived many, many far better people who are no longer around to have a drink. Saying that, I know a guy who has had a bottle of champagne in the fridge for about ten years, awaiting the day, and next time I see him I'm sure we'll have a toast to the memory of the proud Baronness. I suppose you could accuse him of being a champagne socialist, except he's not a socialist.

A guy on my football forum posted this immediately after the news broke, and can't deny I watched it for about two minutes straight, laughing like a drain the whole time.

Back in our younger, more carefree days, we referred to her as "Maggot Thrasher".

No disrespect intended, of course.

Not a fan of speaking ill of the dead, what is the point?

If I had an issue it should be resolved while they are walking around.

(Not to say crimes shouldn't be discussed, a la Savile)

Yet what will we do when Kissinger dies? He is sitting pretty in a NY mansion today, no doubt disemboweling some young person for his sick pleasure. Mass murderer, cabal member, what do we do? Insult him when he dies? Chicken shit sheeple I could not be more, could one?

Yet no one posted the Morrissy song here, which had that great line,
"'Cause people like you, make me feel so old inside."

Unions were out of control in the dreary depressed UK when she took over, the country looked like 1951, and she schooled them in her version of austerity and deregulation. Bad for the earth, of course, yet England prospered by cutting away dead weight. She continued the crimes in Ireland, and many other unpleasantries, yet was she any different that any other Tory? Just a cog in a bad idea. But so very far removed from, "property is theft", and other notions of commons and freedom that what can you really critique? A cog in a shitstem, nothing more. Also recall, Labor in the UK ran all the wars attempting to cling to and then destroy the African "colonies". An effort which continues to this day under "New" Labor. Need we go to Labor/Blair involvement in September eleventh and illegal wars and Congo... Vilifying the frontman in these death schemes is just what the elites put them out there for, making us who engage with these cults of personality in any form, ultimately, dupes.

I get the sense this post is worth re-posting about 10 times, so it really sinks in. Let it sink in.

That said, the champagne and Redford pics are hilarious and sweet and deserved.
Perhaps the problem is just, there needs to be more champagne, lol?
When old man Bill Clinton passes away peacefully 15-20 years from now...
Will there also be champagne popped and sprayed, beaming head nods?

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

I appreciate your sentiments, jcivil, and you make some very valid points here, but lets not miss the forest for the trees. Thatcherism, the Uk equivalant of Regaenomics, has been the driving force behind the growing income inequality that continues to plague the country today. And it's the same story here in the US. I only wish we'd had the balls to dance in the streets when Reagan kicked it. Instead, we got weeks and months of sentimental hero worship and little to no public demonstration of dissent. So yeah, I'm proud of those brits. Theyre not so much celebrating Thatchers death as they are calling attention to the lies and distortions of the state and they're media mouthpieces, as far as I can see.

Celebration is part of the process of revolution. Thatcher is dead, now let's bury her legacy too.

People praising Thatcher's legacy should show some respect for her victims. Tasteless.
