Majorly OT now, apologies.

This statement is intensely frustrating to me, because such meta-threads pop up from time to time, often precipitated by some friction, the last was by justdrew only weeks ago, then many folks (Jeff, even!) pop in with some great ideas, and then they die a quiet death. There's no shortage of specific ideas, but perhaps they're too much work.

It should ideally just be a place where everyone respects eachother and discusses issues instead of posters, but as we all know human behavior is commonly far less than ideal.

That is probably all I will add to this discussion, I have seen too many good forums self destruct over petty BS and a general inability of members to move past fundamental differences of opinion for the greater good.

Whatever happens, RI has had a good run and i hope it can continue.

I completely missed that thread, but I'm looking at it now.

I'll get the mods together with drew and see if we can compile a list of potential changes that are actually implementable. At that point, maybe we can present a list of real possibilities for discussion.

We have been working on things. I made changes to the code just yesterday and today, improving small areas of functionality. The new Youtube embed code is good to go as far as I'm concerned, unless a significant portion of folks here want the option to embed larger or smaller sized videos.

Drew and I have to work together on changes, so that can slow things down a bit, especially when I'm busy, like lately, as you well know.

we collected some good ideas and a few things have been implemented, others will come. but that thread was just talking about technical foundations/UI, not the content.

^Of course, I recognize that your original topic was technical in nature, but content crept into that thread a bit, as with my link to some older meta brainstorming.

Thank you to everyone who does the hard work. Time is precious, sorry for my impatience, but wanted to inform.

(Don't care for hot linked quotes, I'd rather keep it simple.)

buttons, codes

I'm all for improved functionality, although I don't know what that means. Yeah, losing the large/small video codes is okay, but have a significant portion of folks here used these buttons within the last, say, 12 months? Embed, FMA, FMAp, background=, googlemaps, googlevideo? If we lose those buttons, would that improve functionality? Just curious , Again.

Thanks to all who make it work from back stage.

FWIW, I've lifted c2w's suspension. IMO a week's suspension without notice should be for only egregious violations.

But it's not Bruce's fault. It's mine for not developing a protocol for these situations. I'll consult with the mods and see that one is instituted, with transparency, asap.

Some transparent protocol for these types of situations, going forward, should resolve this issue once and for all.

Great to see you back, drop in more often, please.

Bruce has had a tough time of it lately, I am surprised he has stuck around this long to be honest, he is a better man than me.

they're not lost, they'll be updated too shortly, just need to change a few numbers around.

Yay. I'm sure everyone will be thrilled that I can now come back from my self imposed suspension.

Is the trench decorating over now?

maybe we'll get a few people back here and start posting again
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.
