she was fucking armed with a 4,000 lb car ramming into a baracade hitting an officer backing up and speeding away ...how many people do you want to see run over ...hit while the officers just stand there ...wait for her to get hungry and go through the Mac's drive up?

I don't care when they shot at her. They eventually did and their approach to her only escalated her response thus ensuring her being shot and endangering others including her child and innocent bystanders. With all the tracking that goes on these days, they could have watched her from afar and grabbed her when she stopped for gas or a Big Mac.

Are you seriously going to contend the point of my post? You don't think these guys are ready to rumble? All the equipment and training for nothing? If shit doesn't happen, they have to make it happen or else these guys lose their skills and their nerves.

An unarmed woman, possibly disturbed but that shouldn't matter, has been shot and killed because police forced her into a response and you take the side of the police.

There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Well it's like what happened in the greater Boston area. Some people argued it was necessary for authorities to shut down large parts of Mass. state. Yet that doesn't happen in other cases of a lone nutcase
in a getaway vehicle. They literally had armored police vehicles, tens of thousands of cops/agents/paramilitary, often going door to door harassing people with guns drawn. Or the intentional surrounding and grizzly
burning of Dorner alive in southern california.

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it.

how about all those Iraqi kids you were so concerned about earlier?

Painting her into a corner is increasing the chances of her running someone over....and that's exactly what happened. Jesus, a woman was shot and killed by trigger itchy cops and a child is now motherless and impacted with this trauma for the rest of its life because the cops forced a response. You do know this is why many jurisdictions have rules against police chases, don't you? It's for this very reason.

It was a purposely ironic statement. Satire. Dark, yes, but satire. These are dark times.

And I'm still concerned about them and always will be.

You're scaring me. To side this easily with the police state is rather unnerving especially at a venue such as RI. Have you ever seen the movie The Reader? Amongst other things, it shows what ordinary people are capable of doing to other ordinary citizens when following authority, or even what they'd advocate.

Hey I like your humor and point, a lot.

It occurred to me how much I absolutely detest Obamacare/ACA, not because I was told it is "bad" from right wing trogledytes...but because of this smothering smarmy trendoid Obama age telling me to accept it....and that begins to make me think: "Will victims of Obamas drones or Bush's bombs be eligible for Obamacare?". It's a rhetorical question designed to not be able to be answered, it's just some
of the smug modern day mainstream "liberals" bother me as much as the right wingers. It's like you can't have outside opinions, everything has to be curated in a little safe box. It's why I truly
feel 60's era civil rights, women rights and anti war activists would want to spit in the face of most the privileged trendoids masquerading as "concerned progressives" today.

No, about Madeleine Albright being painted in a positive light by Feminist.com as a positive role model. It's irreverence to her and to the publication that chose to highlight her as a role model.

Damn straight. Even further, imagine what Emma Goldman would think of this behavior.

I see Seemslikeadream's point, I do. If an individual is trying to hurt people with a speeding car, it's bad...but I also see your point.

And to the overall point of blindly going along with authority...I think back to how, after 9/11, so much of the 1999 and 2000 era activists talking about WTO, Seattle, IMF, Stolen election by Bush ALL THE SUDDEN
became mindless pro authority idiots in the wake of 9/11. "I'm liberal but maybe Bush is right in going into Afghanistan and all these new security measures"... "AFGHANISTAN WAS THE RIGHT WAR, IRAQ IS THE BAD WAR"(a refrain I heard to the point of wanting to vomit)

Most liberals today, like their right wing compatriots, would be willing to accept tanks in the streets and full on no kidding martial law, deportation of minorities, etc in the wake of a large scale terror attack.
HELL, look at Boston bombing and the car chase...people on here were even defending the martial law tanks in the street insanity. And that was only after a few people died in a home made rice cooker explosion.

obviously they just eliminated a presumably increasingly-uncooperative witness from stamford with a remote control car hack.
By 1964 there were 1.5 million mobile phone users in the US
