So what's it all for?

Postby Handsome B. Wonderful » Wed Oct 09, 2013 3:43 pm

I'm sitting here at my job wondering what it's all about. Why are we here? Why am I here? Why was I born? Nine months before I was born my parents had sex and nine months later I was born. Why? What am I supposed to be doing? All I know is I would rather heal people than hurt them. Pretty basic.

But I find myself so. what's the word? What is the proper description? Dissatiisfaction? A general malaise about my own existence? I work for a communications organization and as far as I can tell there are only a handful who actually care about it. Seems everyone else is just collecting a pay cheque. What for? To pay bills? To buy booze and make "them" richer?

I am 40 years old and have not accomplished much, actually nothing at all. Dropped out of college, no children, stuck in a rut at a $12 per hour job. The universe doesn't care, the earth doesn't care, my Prime Minister certainly doesn't care. Hell our Mayor doesn't care about me. Just want to get out of here, with no idea how to or where to even go.

I'm rambling, but I feel so directionless right now. :|
Born we are the same, within the silence, indifference be Thy name
Torn we walk alone, we sleep in silent shades
The grandeur fades, the meaning never known- 'Born' Nevermore

Give Meth a try...it works for me. I have almost 300 posts in a little over a week because of the stuff....and don't listen to that nonsense about how addictive it is....it's propaganda. It's magical like wow, wow, wow.

Keep electronics away.

Clear your mind. Think of nothing.

Then try again.

Or not.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Ecclesiastes

12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

12:2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

But you care! Try tell yourself that you love you. Forgive yourself for whatever mistakes you've made. Work toward some goal of change in your life and remind yourself daily that you're proud of your effort. I know it sounds weird, but you'll be surprised how this will help. Do get outside, do observe nature, do get your hands dirty. Because of our way of life we've lost touch with nature and our place in the natural order, so get back to the garden! We are all important, and we all matter even though we can't see that most of the time. You are not your job. You're a spiritual being having a physical experience. Now, you go rock that shit! :lovehearts:
Don't believe anything they say.
And at the same time,
Don't believe that they say anything without a reason.

Really? Are you serious that you would think it was serious? To shade what is obviously satire in green completely defeats the purpose. When someone's feeling down, I provide them some levity IRL to help take some of the edge off. And you know what? It works every time in my world outside of this place. And you know what? It can work here too if you let it. Part of the problem is taking all of this shit way too seriously. What I did with my first post was to provide an antidote, as ephemeral as its effect may be. Now, you all can do this poster the service of not turning the thread into a flame war. I won't say anymore about my initial post in respect for the author. I may add a more serious post related to the author's OP after a while, but I'm not getting in the dirt with you all.

You're in a great position to leave the BS behind and explore the world, if that's a call you hear. Young enough to have energy and health, old enough to have some street smarts and savvy. Find work on a boat or a ship going overseas. Keep hustling until you've found a place where you feel like sticking around; maybe it takes a decade or more. It wouldn't be easy but it'd be a hell of an adventure. Nothing holding you back.

your past as short as it is here tends to lead one to believe you were serious....and the green is a well known color here for sarcasm if you were such a long time lurker as you have stated maybe you would know that..and since none of us know you very well it's hard to read you and what you really mean

maybe we have all been misreading you and your sense of humor

but I doubt that

you can't be down right nasty in one thread and then be down right nasty in another and say "Oh I was just kidding"

how are we supposed to know the difference?

but I am sure you were serious with me

Indeed.

Such as any of the places depicted here:

http://shutupandtakemethere.com/

I'm sure we can all (and have) conjure(d) up all manner of similar thoughts to those touched on in the OP.

But in the [relatively] short time you share this dimension with the rest of us mouth-breathers, you may want to absorb as much of the worthwhile pursuits as possible. Look beyond the seemingly obvious (yet illusory) moments of negative thought patterns.

(easier in theory than in practice)

[perhaps it's time I take my own advice...]

I read Carol's reply and thought "what?!?". I did do some LSD and smoked some weed in my youth so I was gonna say "been there, done that". Not offended though.

I do entertain the fantasy of bringing all the unjust to justice. Ya know? Exposing the darkness, bringing all those who commit crimes against humanity to justice, uncovering all the corruption and ruinous plans of those in power. I wonder how close I would get before they decided to off me. "This guy is getting too close to the truth and in danger of exposing us. He needs to be eliminated." Like Danny Casolaro. I am reading The Last Circle by Cheri Seymour, so maybe that's what's motivating that.

Maybe a long vacation is in order.

A miscalculation on my part, apparently. I read your name and juxtaposed it with the post and thought "Tony Robbins is supposed to be a positive motivational speaker, not someone who questions what it's all about." If it's in any way related to a significant other, this video from Tony Bobbins helped me.
