As you provided, I had a look at that link for context.
I disagree with your characterisation. In that thread you are being a jerk. It is a sign of respect for someone to try to connect with the person as well as the argument. You appear to be offering slim the gift of a bucket of bile, which he turns down. I think it was really uncalled for and out of line.

If you start treating people as total fucking morons frankly just because you *really* disagree with how they see things, that is leaving discussion and going into self-righteous power tripping.

I think the Edmonds / Greenwald subject is extremely difficult, partly because the realm of many of the actors could better be labelled LieSpace, partly ,because of it shearing apart what was once, for many people, simultaneous pictures and Edmonds and Greenwald both being heroic in their own ways. And also, from my point of view, a situation where new information seems to demand a complete revision of what to think / believe to Worldview A then more comes in demanding a revision to a different Worldview B, where both A and B appear mutually contradictory.

Late August last year was the last post on R.I. from Jeff Wells.
My communications to him in that time went unanswered.
Maybe it's time for all of us to part company. I cant imagine that each of us, given how we could be spending the limited resources of our time and attention (on a planet that seems pretty short of both at the moment) would continue to choose to be spending it like this.

Well basically Jack Riggler was being a bully and I called him out on it, and all hell broke loose.

He's now in the process of a massive hissy fit of self destruction on that other thread that is pretty epic. But kind of sad, really.

It's funny, because in the past I have said about 1% of the kind of things he's said here in the past couple of days and gotten banned for, like, 2 weeks for it. I guess he's above the law around here. For some reason, I just don't know. Seems like all the mods are done here, along with damn near everybody else. Except Jack, who thinks he owns the joint.
