Flannel Foot was a notorious "gentleman burglar" in London, who committed hundreds of crimes over a 20-25 year period, and was never caught. Or maybe he was? A man called Henry Williams admitted to 34 of the burglaries in 1937.

He wasn't really much of a gentleman - he mainly robbed poor or working class households on Fridays, when he knew the man of the house would've been in receipt of his wages, but he became a legendary figure, and many ladies of the gentler classes claimed to have been awoken and kissed by him in the night... which is unlikely.

Anyway, just like this old-style kind of clean guitar picking.

ourmaninthefield has spent the last 6 years filming festivals and club nights, capturing some of our life long heroes on film. Nothing though, had prepared us for our biggest piece of work to date.......a 45 minute film which incorporate 2 festivals, 3 gigs, more time lapses than we can count and a film that was released as the official album film of Sasha's Involv3r. A proud day for all at ourmaninthefield.

Having worked with Sasha on a couple of occasions over the years (Warehouse Project Manchester 2010 and Ushuaia Ibiza Closing Party 2011) we had started to develop a great working relationship with The Man Like, understanding his music and set delivery that is the journey on which took clubbers during his sets. Sitting down with Sasha at the Barbican in 2012, Sasha spoke about the album he has been working on for the last couple of years, Involv3r. Having heard some of the tracks as they were being roadtested in his sets (which turned out to be Battleships and Smalltalk) we were chomping at the bit to produce a visual counterpart to accompany the album.

Shot at SW4, Zoo Project Festival, Leeds Warehouse, Manchester Warehouse Project and The Ministry of Sound we aimed to capture a range of venues that were to become the backdrop of the film.

Everyone seeks to find something different in electronic music but most come along for the ride. This is the ride we went on in producing a visual representation of the thid and final iconic album in the series as we saw it. We filmed in a whole host of loctions including those mentioned above as well as lost in forests in the early hours of the morning, abandoned buildings, loft spaces, under motorway bridges, on docklands, old bus depots, ruined castles, basements, tunnels, old mills, on trains, from cars and many others. We slept in quarries, on office floors, on sofas, in cars, hotels and hammocks... some nights we had no sleep at all as we collected over 100 hours of footage and approximately 40 - 50,000 photographs. This has been more than a film project, it's a trip we look back on with fond but hazy memories.

This film represents a huge journey that ourmaninthefield have gone through over the years and attempts to represent the soundscape that clubbers retreat to at the weekend. Where they ride the peak of the wave that washes the humdrum of the working week away.

For full viewing experience this journey is better taken in the dark.........on full volume.

Much love

Kuan, that was a beauty. I'm laughing, but I genuinely appreciated it too.

Myself, I like a bit of Noel Coward from time to time. Whatever poltical intent may be read into me posting this, it is false, and wrong of thee - it's just a great and funny song, which i have always enjoyed a great deal, and so say all of us.
