People naturally gravitate toward ideology, gurus, officialdom, belief, ego, etc., instead of embracing researchable information that can be verified or substantiated independent of any ideology, guru, or official they believe in. Therefore, dividing us up into Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, on top of all of our other differences guarantees lack of critical thought and the derogatory labeling of people who refuse to conform to one or the other, while, at the same time, encouraging group think/herd mentality.
This is a liberal forum, so critical thinking and questions that might perturb liberal doctrine, or that appears to, God-forbid, advance conservative doctrine are, if not banned, strongly advised against. So, for example...
If you ask questions about the Holocaust, you are a Neo-Nazi Holocaust denier.
If you question or criticize Israel, or dislike any Jewish group and/or person of note, you are an anti-Semite.
If you question the the grass-roots origins and possible underlying agenda of groups like Black Lives Matter, you are a racist.
If you question or criticize the grass-roots origins and possible underlying agenda of current gay rights politics, you are a homophobic hater.
If you question or criticize academia/corporate/state sanctioned science--for ex. anthropomorphic climate change, evolution, etc.--you are an ultra-conservative religious fanatic or just plain stupid.
If you question or criticize abortion, you are a right-winged misogynist, and probably a homophobic, religious fanatic despite the historical eugenics/Nazi roots of Planned Parenthood.
If you question the mainstream media or any part of any official narrative, no matter how much that narrative defies/contradicts reality and/or common sense, or simply apply critical thinking, you are a nutty conspiracy theorist who belongs in an insane asylum.
If you question or criticize what the establishment calls capitalism, you are an anti-American and more than likely a commie pinko fascist.
and the list goes on and on...
