I generally don't do politics these days, but I do have to say that Im personally encouraged by both Sanders and Corbyn.

Time( whatever that is or means), along with a more collective understanding will only tell.

When the true human heart speaks Sanders, and the media speak Clinton, its time to pump out the facts.

Now then, wheres that James Corbett video entitled "meet the Clintons" when you need it ?

Another inbred group of pathological liars and therefore psycopaths.

Theyre running the show just now folks.

Now they're saying that Biden's bow-out assures the nomination for Clinton --

Biden's decision puts to rest the uncertainty hanging over the Democratic primary. The race now will likely settle into a two-person contest between Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who has energized the party's liberal base but lacks Clinton's campaign infrastructure and support from party leaders.

I might be time to start focusing on the actual voting & counting devices in use this election. If Sanders' momentum continues, the hackable voting machines might be the only way they can stop him.

I had the most stupid reaction possible when there was talk of Biden entering the race. I thought, "why do we need two neoliberal dems in the same race?". I couldn't think further than how much I loathe both Clinton and Biden.

It didn't occur to me that having Biden and Clinton duke it out for the nomination would have worked well for Bernie.

So now I get to eat this shit sandwich for the next year.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

I really hate this whole thing about his campaign accessing the DNC database. Number one, it's stupid to even care. If Clinton's shit wasn't secure, then it wasn't. I doubt Sanders hired some wily hackers in order to get at "her information". Sadly nobody can tell me otherwise but my potential vote has already been cast and I'm going with Sanders. I fear he's "too old" though to see the thing out should he get the nomination. He'll super really have to find a good running mate.

But we know he won't get the nomination because the Clinton team is far too cunning and powerful. I thought Sanders "won" the debate last night, but Clinton stole it with her final words in her closing argument.

May the Force be with you, she said. That turned my stomach, because she won at least a few more votes for just having that "sense of humor" to do so as every motherfucking commercial it seems as some Star Wars tie in right now. PLUS people are still shopping for Christmas and though I have not waded into a store or mall recently but a shit ton of shit, as we know, has all been branded with STAR WARS.

Bruh, you were so close.

What channel were the debates on?

Who owns that channel?

Do they also own the Star Wars franchise?

Purveyor (25,960 posts) (poster at Democratic Underground 12/20/15 4:13 PM PST - 8 minutes ago)

This site is owned lock, stock and barrel by the DNC and anyone that thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

You really think it is run by the paltry 'buy a star for a buck or more' fundraising or lack thereof. You seriously think ad revenue is keeping this joints lights on.

Grow the fuck up and just get over the fact that this is a DNC paid for operation.

Fess up forum administrators and give us the real 'low-down'...

For the rest of ya's...better tow the party line or else.

A Time to Purge: Meltdown at DemocraticUnderground
Posted on June 7, 2013
obama bush When last we checked in at DemocraticUnderground, where I posted as BurtWorm for seven years before getting the boot in December 2010 without a single warning, the Administrators had revamped the site and imposed a new set of rules emphasizing the “Democratic” part of the name and seeming to toss the “Underground” part, as it were, under the ground. If you’ve never heard of DU, it’s self-described as the largest “progressive” forum on the Internet, larger even than Dailykos (allegedly). Its politics, however, have been nearly dead centrist since (at least) the 2008 election, when Barack Obama made being a Democrat “respectable” again.

I was curious how our friends over there have been handling the president’s embellishment of the Bush national security policies. I’m especially curious about how the Administrators are coping. These have got to be trying times for a forum with rules meant to stifle talk that disparages Democratic elected officials. Luckily, the administrators can always count on at least a handful of shameless partisans to carry team Obama’s water even during the worst of times. Continue reading →

Yes I recall BurtWorm.

The DU admins opened a hornet's nest as one of the most popular and prolific posters was banned (Manny Goldstein) and there have been other bans of long term popular posters this Fall.

Check this out also at DU:

I am boycotting the PPR of MannyGoldstein

I'm actively blocking all ads from this site to prevent any revenue generation from my viewership, and will not contribute monetarily in any way until such a time as Manny is offered a reasonable pathway to rejoin the DU Community. Because I am airing an action that may incur consequences to me, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend anyone else do the same.

It is unacceptable, to me, that an admin should improperly use the ToS in such a way as to silence a community member, simply because they disagree.

It has been demonstrated that the administrator in question is applying the ToS in a manner that unfairly favors those who support his chosen candidate.

To be clear, I'm not asking for anything unreasonable; I'm asking that DU stop hemorrhaging it's well spoken, thought provoking members by instituting a non-permanent form of punishment for members who've brought literally years worth of value to DU. I'm asking that DU's policies (ToS) become more progressive, rather than totalitarian.

Please provide a pathway, not only for Manny, but for ALL past members who brought great ideas and enrichment to us all.

We are the Democratic party... we are not the party exclusion, reclusion and elitism. We are the party of progressive ideals, fairness, and inclusion. Please consider reflecting this in the ToS.

Please provide a pathway for the return of MannyGoldstein.

Three of the most recommended threads are directly about the banning of MannyGoldstein.

There is a new forum where many folks from DY have been congregating the last several days named for the recently (earlier in 2015) deceased DU poster JackPineRadical.

From MannyGoldstein at jackpineradicals.org:

Thanks everyone!

I always knew it would come to this: DU is owned, apparently, by the husband of Hillary's 2008 campaign treasurer (someone please let me know if this isn't true.) Flashlights ain't appreciated by thieves in the night.

And here we are.

I spent a bunch of years posting at DU and had a ton of fun writing what was on my mind and tweaking silly people. I learned a lot, and hopefully contributed some insight as well. I am very, very thankful to everyone who helped make this a great experience for me, and I hope that you took something from me, too!

That part of my life is now over. That's OK. DU's lost many great voices over the past few months, and my mediocre voice can be added to the list.

Time for bigger and better things.

JackpineRadicals.org is my new home on the Internet, and I intend to do my part to make it a great home for other FDR Democrats who are unwelcome elsewhere. There will be glitches and challenges, but we'll make it work.

And we'll fight those @$%ers, and we'll win!.

Warmest Regards,

Manny

--------------------------

If true, the DU ownership connection more than explains the differential treatment of posters at DU.

Its mostly entertainment for me. :fawked:
