Obviously, you've been hanging out with the wrong crowd. I've not heard one person utter such a thing.

YouTube now wants you to sign in to prove your age in order to watch this.

Which will keep a lot of people from watching it.

Major backlash making its way through my social circle now regarding the recent meme that pitted Sanders against Clinton on "the important issues" like wolves, robots, and Radiohead. I'd always heard both men and women make fun of Clinton for being rich, out-of-touch, metallic and forced, but the hipster douchey music snobbery thing really touched a nerve.

My initial reading interpreted the Clinton thing as being the old de riguer rich person insult, but I might be wrong.

However, the effect is bad timing after this caucus mess.

If TRUE LEFTIES, (like me), spent more time being critical of the "left wing" of the democratic process, lefties might get their wishes. The democratic party would have to reform, or of course, start killing more REAL lefties. But at the present time real lefties have been led into a swamp. This swamp consists of bitching about a supposed "right." A pure distraction. If people really wanted to be "left" they should be critical of these "left" criminals. Fuck bitching about the right, its the same big gang pretending to be two teams. I don't see a wake up call coming anytime soon though.....

Can you translate that into something a Vermonter could understand?

It sounds like you're saying a twitter meme that's being passed around by people who won't even vote is going to hurt the Bernie Sanders campaign in the real world.

Sorry buddy, this explains a little better than I could: http://www.buzzfeed.com/ryanhatesthis/t ... st-stereot

The fights that are erupting between are happening between voting-age, politically-active men who are Bernie supporters and shared some of these (like the Grateful Dead one) on various forms of social media and women who are Bernie supporters but are being a little soured on the "Bern" phenomenon because of his supporters. Or at the very least, that's the undertone and I've been sensing that building over the past couple of weeks.

I really feel like the bulk of this meme, at least in its original form, only referenced old Clinton jokes unrelated to sexism.

I feel like I got gently brain-damaged by reading that Buzzfeed piece, but that pretty much confirms you're saying exactly what I thought.

Identity politics Trumps reality every time, huh? The notion that Hillary Clinton might just be a pathological liar with no real cultural interests outside the pursuit of power is hugely problematic, simply and solely because she's a woman.

Do you believe in Bernie Bros, bro? Not a rhetorical question, I'd like to know if you buy that one.

You're just gonna have to take my word for it, but Bill was ever so slightly mouthing every word Hillary said while he stood behind her. I'm sure there are clips out there that will show this that I may or may have not noticed correctly. But I swear he was slightly moving his mouth word for word as she spoke.

Hm. Good question. I've seen it referenced by people who I trust, but the original source could be a fantasy-based echo chamber. I have not observed that behavior firsthand. Either way, it's having an effect on smart people that I know who are put on alert.

I almost reflexively said, "of course", but I can't in good conscience say that.

Frank Zappa was right.

No. I like what he says, I really do. But I "like" what all of em say. Sounds good to me right? He can't deliver, because he is part of the 'establishment' and he cannot disobey it.

Nah, bruh --- he's referring to the reported/allegedly real (or largely manufactured) gaggle of hipsters (exclusively young white males, I believe) who may reportedly/allegedly pose a threat to the viability of Sanders' campaign..

(to be juxtaposed in part as a contrast to the 'feminists' who clamor for Clinton primarily due to her physical identification as Female)

Here's a taste:‎

^^Quite so. It's one of the most beautifully Post-Reality memes I've seen in recent months.

Every actual "Bernie Bro" I know spends hours every day contemplating how to reach out to women and minorities, because they know damn well that those voters are the key to getting their homeboy elected and shit. They're male feminists, they're social justice majors, they're so earnest I have to limit my contact with them for the safety of all involved.

That Atlantic piece is perfect, because it is 100% fabricated.

When Mashable tried to go hard in the paint, their best actual evidence was 1) a woman from New Hampshire (who I recently found out I know!) and then 2) a parody account...created by a Ted Cruz fan.

Regardless, that Mashable piece has been taken as all the "proof" that was needed for many subsequent op-eds.

We live in miraculous times, I encourage everyone here to envision the reality you want and then just make shit up - and broadcast that until you get the results you want. If anyone, ever, tries to point out that you're "objectively" or "factually" wrong, just triple down and accuse them of whatever is handy. I hope nobody interprets this as sarcasm, it is not. I trust a lot of you to make interesting things happen, and right now the quivering skein is more permeable than ever. We're just a couple years away from having a majority of US voters who have never read a book in their lives.

Make that clay your own.
