Yeah, this thread and the other one have been great resources. I'm glad to say I haven't seen any of my personal friends attacking her gender or looks. I've been really pounding hard about Walmart and Berta Caceres.

I do see women attacking my friends for not being "true feminists" and supporting her. Sheesh.

Can't remember if Ralph Nader did or did not do such a thing - i'm sure if he did he was attacked for trying to 'split the left'

I was a Nader voter in 2000. He and his supporters were definitely maliciously attacked for splitting the left.

Odd thing is that Clinton has a way worse human rights / war record violation list than W did in 2000.

Felt the exact same way seeing Nordic's post. Let's not do that (not saying you were, Nordic, but plenty are).

Didn't mean to offend with that, I just thought it was a funny meme based on Internet fears and warnings and clickbaits and what not.

I wouldn't want to see a nude pic of any of the candidates, male or female.

My apologies if I offended anyone in that way. Seriously.

Like Willow said there are a zillion reasons to despise her, none of them involve her gender.

Back about the time she and Bill got the White House I actually liked her. She seemed like a smart capable woman and I had one of my few celebrity dreams about her, where I ran into her and we chatted and I was very charmed by her. I've always had a thing for smart women. My despising her now is all based on her character.

Ha, oddly enough I sort of like her personality when she's speaking plainly. Not with all the pandering and fake salsa dancing or doing the whip and nae nae.

Enjoy your week off. I am a secret agent mod. Just kidding. I don't think there is anything that people here could offend me with. And yeah that's just a little slight to Mr. Rex who knows I don't mean nuthin'. . . (Well the latest opinion being Hastert but let's just let that fucker rot, hang, whatever)

Don't apologize for anything that comes from your heart.

I will again point out that I myself am personally friends (used to skate together) with the best friends of the Clintons. And she, Bill, Chelsea all appear to be real. My take is nothing but I have one degree of separation from knowing them. I have no idea whether any of them are good or bad, but like my mom who never wants to hear what I have to say and though I love her dearly she is totally lame when it comes to arguing with me. That is what I think of Clinton -- she's just a lame mom -- sorry. We have to get used to the fact that she is a woman and the "card" will be pulled. It is a card we do not want to pull. But will have to.

No getting around it.

I want a female candidate to vote for so hard!!! I wish Jill Stein was as popular as Clinton. I say 'so hard' because that's what all my millennial cohorts say when we want something with all of our hearts, and I've seen it granted on many occasions when it seemed impossible, simply because we wanted it SO HARD! There may be some strange magic to this.

I think theClintons are convenient tools. They did despicable things during their tenure in Arkansas, and have profited hugely from their reticence on these matters, which so few of us hold them accountable for due to msm corporate control. People can't call out what they're not aware of.

Yeah, there is no getting around looks being a big variable for a candidate. Sex appeal is (fair or not) a factor in all this. Many a male presidential candidates looks have helped or hindered them in the process, something charm or confidence can offset a bit, but still influence many a voter. No doubt it is harder for a woman, just like in the workplace. Sarah Palin gets screen time I think many times because she's easy on the eyes as was W probably for many of his base whereas some more adept right wing wonks have looks for radio which keeps them as speechwriters and in support positions. But if Hilary had more movie star looks (which at 68 is hard for anyone to pull off) she'd probably still have to deal with "she's just a pretty face" regardless of her experience instead of the icy to shrill high powered pantsuit image. She seems to have done a impressive job smothering any sense of sensuality so that is why I thought the pic meme was funny (to me) because it was so unexpected. Bill always seemed like he got into power so he could just sleep with a lot of women while Hilary seemed to sleep with Bill so she could just get into power.
