In a live video stream on Facebook, which appeared to start at 8:59 p.m., a witness named Michael Kevin Bautista, who was covering the protest, broadcast a long exchange of fire between police officers and a gunman outside the El Centro College building at the corner of Main Street and North Lamar.
At 9 p.m. a man and a woman who live a block away from the college uploaded video shot from their living room window in which a stream of gunfire could be heard.

Another clip, recorded by a witness named Randy Biart from the nearby Crowne Plaza Hotel, appeared to show the gunman firing a rifle from behind the columns of El Centro College.

What appears to be another part of Biart’s footage was broadcast by a local Fox News station and copied to Twitter by Matthew Keys, a former social media editor for Reuters who was convicted last year of helping members of the hacker group Anonymous. That section of the video includes distressing, graphic images of the gunman shooting a police officer at point-blank range during the firefight.

"Dude, that's a cop down!"
"Yeah, there's four cops down."
"FOUR?!"
"Yeah, he shot five, seven times."
"It's a dude?!"
"No, it's a sniper from up here somewhere."
"IT'S A SNIPER?!"
"You hear the shots, get down, get down, that's what I'm trying to tell you. Sniper."

No mention of any of this, ever, by Chief Brown, who instead blathered on, hours later, about "at least two snipers" on "elevated" "perches".
Burnt Hill wrote:You actually expect that Brown was to respond to Facebook and Twitter videos in his first media response during an active shooting?
Or at any point in time until the entire investigation is complete?

This unmentionable street-level shooter (White Pants Guy) fired off innumerable rounds at police officers just before 9pm. He shot at least one of them repeatedly at close range, almost certainly killing him.
How many other police officers did White Pants Guy kill or wound with all the (many!) other shots he fired from the street outside El Centro at around 9pm? Eleven officers, maybe?
NB: This was the very beginning of the shooting. Unmentioned by Brown. Who instead said the "sniper" "began firing" from an elevated position. (I will locate the exact quote, which I have posted already in this thread, and post it here again again.)

No, you fool. (Do you even read the posts you purport to be replying to??) I expect Dallas Police Chief Brown to be informed by his own fucking officers that at least one of them has just been shot dead by a shooter on the street. And of course he was so informed.
Especially since this was the very beginning of the shootings, very shortly before 9pm.
jesus wept

I think we should make timeline and map together.
