New Election Threads Are Stupid
BUMP this if you would like to see the recent proliferation of new threads that repeat the same old shit about the US presidential election locked. This one should be locked at the same time, of course, but I hope not before. If you're mad about the latest outrage from either Cthulhu twin, it's already being covered in the long-running, dedicated threads. There are already 200+ pages between the ones for Clinton and Trump, which merged thematically long ago. It's absurd to repost the same story not once, not twice, but five to six times, and then have fragments or repeats of the same bullshit comments on all six. The power of RI is in holding focused discussions continuously over years. That's what makes us the ANTI-Facebook, where there's a new "timeline" post every fourteen seconds and it disappears five minutes later forever, unless it's advertising or cats. There's also a Stein thread and specifically an election fraud thread started by Willow the Wise. There was also a Sanders thread. Those four or five are surely enough? (I'm sure some wag will now start "Gary Johnson Is Seriously Unable to Find His Ass.")
BUMP THIS!
BUMP THIS!

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Re: New Election Threads Are Stupid
I saw some post on FB today saying something like this: "I'm
Voting Gary Johnson for president because I don't want anymore war, and Gary Johnson won't invade any countries because he doesn't know where any of them are".
It was worded better than that but you get the drift.

Indeed that is the power and the value of RI. Always was and still is. There is an ebb and flow of course...JackRiddler » Tue Oct 04, 2016 12:05 pm wrote:The power of RI is in holding focused discussions continuously over years.
For me the charm was always reading/experiencing original content from authentic, original people. I love a good treasure hunt. Some days you just walk around and there are gold nuggets laying on the surface. Other days you have to dig and it feels like others keep shoveling a mountain of dirt on top of you.

Re: New Election Threads Are Stupid
Well if we're going to have BUMP threads why not have a GIVE UP thread? Anyway, I think this joint is only what we make of it. Some are here still. I'm not going anywhere. RI is still my favorite site. I don't know why. I don't like fighting, trolling, condescension etc and for the most part this is why "many" of us remain.
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi

Re: New Election Threads Are Stupid
As in many instances I also agree with jack on this one.
Maybe we can merge this with the Trump Vs Clinton is political stupidity personified thread ?

Thanks seemslikeadream, I didn't think I could get a bigger laugh today than seeing Assange's "madejalook!" poke at the GOP, but that was spit-take worthy!
