Trump doesn't represent a policy, but a style.
And the style is toxic.
There are many republicans who may even hold what dems consider repugnant policy ideals, but are stand up, moral people.
Can people imagine the Trumps harangues coming from the oval office?

I think the take away is that even in districts that Clinton won, she didn't win in large enough margins to carry states that had large rural voters.
So the liberal assholes that lived in democratic areas that couldn't quite bring themselves to vote for Clinton because she didn't talk Bernie enough have Trump now.
Also, CNN was just talking about Russia interfering in the election on one side. And that one side looks like it may win now in a huge surprising upset. That is a huge thing. It is even a huger thing that many progressives, liberal and conservatives don't care two shits about that.

This is so fucked.

Yep, they still have their principals though!

Well, CNN would, wouldn't they? They'd blame it on aliens if they had to. But they don't have to (yet), so Castro Noriega Milosevic Saddam Gadhaffi Al Qaeda Putin will do just fine in the meantime.

Yes, exactly. This election has certainly brought a new wave of respect for the US mainstream media here on RI!

I'm trying to hold on to the one perceived positive here: a possible detente with Russia.

Just remembered that what, about three Supreme Court justices are in play for Trump. And Garland Merrick is still in limbo? Wonder what will happen with that... \<] :starz:

we'll at least we won't have an Clinton Impeachment thread....
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Thanks for that. This reminded me that I still have a sense of humor.

Yes. WWIII has been avoided folks! The new emissary of peace, Ghandi with a weave, is about to be elected.

I'm waiting for someone to blame it on Ralph Nader. Or Kim Jong-un and his secret bunkerful of genius hackers. Or Fidel Castro (now aged 128, but still seriously dangerous).

It's fecken Groundhog Day all over again. A learning process, innit (though the planet will probably fry before liberals ever learn.)

NYT just called Pennsylvania, and Arizona is a certainty for Trump, so that's it.

The lesson the Democratic party always learns is that they catered too much to the left. This message is greatly aided by all the hand wringing directed towards anyone who voted for a 3rd party candidate because he or she couldn't bring themself to vote for a right wing (Democratic party) candidate.

Few liberals would disapprove if the CIA assassinated Trump and blamed it on a Muslim. Most liberals would support a nuclear war with Russia as long as CNN & the NYT (quoting "sources") reassured them that Evil Putin was preparing to attack US first. They'd call it fighting fascism.

I wish I was joking.

Yes Mac, because liberals are all about assassination and nuclear war.

Mac most liberals (as well as conservatives) just want to get through the day, week, month in one piece. Most don't want to light half the world on fire to prove their ideology is right.
