As if a genuinely independent, robustly mandated special prosecutor wouldn't find loads to investigate with Clinton's public conduct. Obama SHOULD have fired up a special prosecutor into the Bush crimes immediately after HIS election, but PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER. Weird how this supposed everyday mainstay of democracy should have to be repeated ad nauseam every election these days...

I'm feeling surprisingly good. I credit a dysfunctional upbringing and steady diet of horror movies.
Things are going to be horrible I believe for a few reasons.
It is clear Trump excels when he has a scapegoat to humiliate and attack. That is his personality and brand. He's not going to stop as president, he's going to have to find bigger targets to attack and public figures and officials are going to be wary of criticizing someone who goes in for the kill at the slightest provocation, and has the whole federal apparatus behind him. Tricky Dick, J Edgar, Simon Cowell and Gordon Ramsey are now in the White House. He was carried on the backs of people who wanted to see Clinton jailed, whether he pushes that will determine much.
Trump is the anti-politician who was anti-process, anti-establishment and anti-politics. He is now the supreme politician, the system, the politics of Washington. The outsider is now the ultimate insider. He can't make a career of railing about the system when he is running it now. If he does, he's basically going to destroy the political system intentionally or unintentionally. That everyone is whispering "what is he going to do" shows everything is up in the air.
Trump can't handle any criticism. As President all you are is criticized.
Trump pushes conspiracies. Even eluding to a conspiracy as President will validate it with horrible results. Trump broadcasting War of the Worlds from the White House. Think about it.
Normal people are withdrawing and being radicalized over this. Normal people want stability, and that is now gone for a long time. Even if Trump somehow was a closet Roosevelt, a lot of America sees this as a vote for racism, xenophobia, misogyny, etc. Everything they want to believe America doesn't stand for. For those who think this is just the wake up call people need to take back the system, well, after you Snowpiercer.

Kiddies, this was a banana republic (without bananas) long before the term was coined. Like, back when the people were all in uproar about debt and taxes, and 55 guys who included the country's richest, a bunch of slave-owners, and holders of Continental bond notes they bought for pennies on the dollar got together in Philadelphia to write themselves a constitution. They even threw in a Roman Senate for patricians like themselves. Now at times it's risen above the banana republic level, absolutely, it's even been world-inspirational for good government and great society and doing the right thing and shit. But banana's mostly been the normal. Now we get to explore a whole new depth, with literally the most piratical crew of outcasts from within the billionaire and political class gathered around a fucking actor playing a billionire playing a post-modern Hitler for the Christianist and gun-toting rubes, and no one's sure if he's serious or it's just a show. It's almost the political definition of banana. (Oh wait, I'm not supposed to call the old white male demographic who just embraced racism, misogyny and an authoritarian solution (again) mean names. The liberal meanness is what got them so angry, right? If only Lena Dunham and I had been nicer!)
Obviously a special prosecutor going after Clinton only is a fabulously banana republic move. If it was one of a dozen appointments, and these included special prosecutors for the planning of aggressive war, for war crimes, for violations by the surveillance state, for Wall Street and the 2007 scams, etc., fine. But this? A totaly partisan show for Rubesville. Also, distraction from the rape civil suit, Trump U, etc. Enjoy, kids.
