What I find most valuable about this message board is the insight into insights. Placing contexts within context. If there's a 'spirit' of Rigorous Intuition, that's what I would consider 'it.'

It's something I don't find anywhere else. There's plenty here that I can find anywhere else. It has to be that way, you can't have meta-insight, or meta-context without the raw material of insights and contexts. It's a lot of information. Lots of spotlights build up into an x-ray floodlight flash. I know it when it happens. Maybe you do, as well. Dear reader:)

And maybe not. It's going to be different for everyone. Or it could be, at least. If it isn't, I think we may be doing it wrong.

For me, writing is a learning process. I'm learning now, even as I type this. It's like I went supernova about two years ago, and I've been throwing off all the layers. First went material stuff, then layers of conditioning and big chunks of crystallized ego, and now it's been mind debris of finer wavelengths. As I cast off the shells, I say, 'okay, that's not me, that's not me.' I wonder what will be left. Maybe a neutron star. Small star, big gravity well.

Or something else. I don't know, and that's kind of the point. Moving forward, into the unknown. Don't be afraid to be afraid. Fear is the mindkiller, they say. We're complex beings. We're not archetypes, lowest-common denominator roles like on Game of Thrones or something. Are we? Hope not.

Let's take Game of Thrones. If I say 'Life is like Game of Thrones,' and give my reasons, some would be persuaded, or resonate with my reasoning, and agree. If I say 'Life isn't like Game of Thrones,' others might be persuaded or resonate. But what does it matter what I think? It's up to you to decide if life is or is not like Game of Thrones, for yourself.

So yes, writing is a learning process. I'm currently working on typing one-handed while petting a kitty. I'm slowly getting the knack of it. Maybe you read that and wonder, "Is he saying something entirely different than what the words mean?" That depends. It's that meta-context thing again.

Take note of what the boys Lawyer said after the case was dropped:

A 15 year old isn't a "little boy". When I was 15 I was quite capable of kicking 15 types of shit thru most adults, shooting a gun straight over 300 metres, riding 100km in a pushbike in about 3 hours, running 100m in about/just under 11 seconds and competing against and beating adults in a variety of sports. I could cook (not great but well enough to make edible meals that tasted ok), clean, plan, budget, had jobs before and after school. (I was probably more together than I am now.)

I used to lead other kids on school camps where I was responsible for their food, shelter and well being. I know people who left school at 15 and started working in adult jobs, others who were drafted to play AFL footy at the highest level at 15 (tho that doesn't happen any more).

I first got laid at 15. So did many people I know. Its one year younger than Alexander the Great when he got his first taste of ruling somewhere.


What is interesting about that case is that the alleged victim refused to testify against Bean. That could actually be a real red flag.

Impossible to say without actual real evidence.

And since the some of the "real evidence" - the stuff that makes him look bad - in the case seems very compromised by a poor or vindictive prosecution and directly contradicts other evidence that exonerates him how do you trust it?

The Terry Bean thing is a whole lot of meh. I started fucking around with older guys when I was 16. And while it probably wasn't a good idea in the long run, I still had many good experiences, i.e. I learned things of value from one or two "mentors". I certainly do not hold any of the older men accountable in any criminal sense (still kind of friends with one of them), and I would have absolutely resisted testifying against any one of them if pressured to do so.

Yes, I understand it is illegal for an adult to have sex with a 15 or 16-year old (and probably should be) but there is a very huge moral difference between fucking a 15 year-old and fucking a 12 year old. While I view pedophiles (who act on their pedophilia) as monsters, I view ephebophiles as simply lacking character and/or good judgment.

As far as Bean's character goes, well ... let's just say I don't approve of a sexually promiscuous lifestyle full of drugs. But that's a different issue.
