None of us are responsible for goatse, we just have to live in this world.

I'm really enamored with the concept of making it through the next 16 days without even so much as suspending someone.

It'll happen, too.

You sure are a trip spreading a lot of nonsense around. Those are mittens on the McDonald's cup and someone drew some hands on it then sent it out like an attention whore. As far as art goes, there are thousands of paintings and sculptures from around the world since humans scribbled in caves that show nekid people. O.M.G.

Welcome back, 4B. I was concerned that you were gone for good.

Is there anything more sinister than "the general cultural debasement that's been happening for decades at least"?

But yeah, I wouldn't put this down as a deliberate debaser, apart from the source and all; what's in the eye of the beholders, though?

Bit confused by your reframing of Pope's words. I suspect a Mac-ism. Do you really think he meant them the way you're spinning interpreting them?

You know the Pope only sells the best dope, right? His word is Law coz he has the power to loosen and bind all things on heaven & earth. He doesn't ever speak without referring to the Heavenly Plan.

As I've said before, I believe the Catholic Church will be used as the vessel of the new world religion, a counterfeit Christianity, which is needed to capture the souls of this new global order and Pope Francis, the recruiter/PR man, is setting the stage. His world-affirming view is underpinned by a docetistic cosmological attitude.

Whatever you think of the historical Catholic religion or Church, order out of chaos seems to be the blueprint here. I think the subtle breaking down, watering down of the Catholic religion has been going on for decades, but the nail in its coffin occurred when the media was given the green light to expose pedophilia in the Catholic Church (the only powerful institution exposed in the mainstream to the point where pedophilia and Catholic Church are practically synonymous), which resulted in the chaos they needed to resurrect a new religion.

I've read the John Jay report on the pedophilia scandal and when you break it down, it turns out that a little over 1% of priests are actual pedophiles, with maybe 5-10% of the priests being pederasts...that is, priests engaged in sexual relationships with male teenagers over the age of 14, some consensual, some not. I'm certainly not defending the behavior of these priests, especially the behavior of those who covered it up, but the numbers do not reflect the "reality" created by the media.

In other words, the media has made it seem as if the majority of all priests are pedophiles when that is just not true. Also, this pedophile/pederast problem exploded in the late 1960s and 1970s, after Vatican II when the bar was lowered for entrance into the priesthood. There are cases where entire rectories were transformed into brothels starting in the late 60s continuing into the 1970s. Homosexual priests are not the issue. Some of the greatest and most devout priests are/have been homosexual, however, the temptation is much higher for homosexual men just because of the all male world they live in and the escape provided from a hostile world that doesn't accept homosexuals for who they are. Also, heterosexual pederasts (think Elvis bringing home his child bride) are practically sanctioned by the public whereas homosexual pederasts are NOT. See Bella Dodd's testimony to the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee in 1952 and 1953.

So now we have counterfeit Pope Francis and prosperity "Christian"--an oxymoron if there ever was one--President-elect Trump who subscribes to prosperity theology, which is the religious basis of corporate capitalism, promoting the sacrament of consumption and unsustainable development for the material benefit of the elite, the super rich. In this deluded form of "Christianity", the wealthy and powerful become god, while the poor, who must be nonbelievers, devils, or at the very least, the worst kind of sinners, because they do not prosper, therefore aren't worthy of God's blessing must also not be worthy of any human rights at all. Right now, this dynamic is playing out before our very eyes, just waiting to be anointed, consecrated, transformed into global doctrine. What these foolish people do not realize is that they will fall into the category that is denied the prosperity, human rights, quality of life, that they so desperately believe they deserve.

Regarding pedophilia/pederasty in the Catholic Church, I don't know of any stats, but I would bet that more of them are pederasts than actual pedophiles. While wrong, often abusive, and always reflecting poor judgment, pederasty is not as reprehensible as actual pedophilia because a 16 year old can actually understand the physical act to which they are consenting, even if they don't understand its long term emotional consequences. It is obviously much worse when it is non-consensual, but I recognize that even when the sex is consensual it can reflect an abuse of power, and/or can have emotional consequences impossible for the younger party to foresee. My partner's first "relationship" was at the age of 17, with a Catholic priest. While it was consensual, it wasn't very emotionally rewarding for him, consequently he doesn't think very highly of Catholic priests. (I don't think it was otherwise particularly damaging for him long-term.) Again, I'm not condoning pederasty at all, but I am suggesting that there is some nuance here, i.e. not all evils are equally evil.

Re: prosperity Christianity, the same dynamic is what is wrong with most New Age thought (or at least one thing that is wrong with it). Because "you create your own reality" and/or you are suffering the "bad karma" of past sins in previous lifetimes, your suffering is easy to dismiss. While I believe these concepts to have some truth to them (though they are extremely bastardized/distorted in the mainstream understanding) they do not absolve us from having compassion for others and finding ways to alleviate suffering one-on-one, and it does not relieve us from our obligation to work towards more just systems (even while I am pessimistic about the likelihood of success in this world).

Yes.

That's a keeper.

(They must be under the bed, those commies. I think we should be told.)

Hello, Fourth Base. What you mainly missed was the USA's success in creating a functioning time-machine. We are now back in The Fifties.

Guruilla

Could you suggest some modern artists that you would consider artistic and in good taste that do not contribute to general cultural debasement?

And possibly also difficult to lampoon in a manner that doesn't reflect the occult or sex?

Pizzagate being used to revive satanic panic propaganda, further silencing survivors.

Please stop feeding the pedo denialists.

http://www.snopes.com/the-pizzagate-survivor/

But, even from a "bigger picture" standpoint, this video is misleading, and does not show that children all over the world are being subjected to Satanic ritual abuse, in or out of a pizza parlor. This video was originally published in 1989, during an era where talk shows, the media, and the justice system were preoccupied — if not obsessed — with accusations of Satanic abuse.

While the "Satanic panic" of the 1980s resulted in numerous accusations and criminal trials, no evidence was ever uncovered connecting child abuse to Satanic rituals:
