Nothing new from my Google News alerts lately, but I don't think this is over.

I hope it's not over Elvis, and that if there's an arrest, it isn't of someone who's a scapegoat (i.e. Mary Pinchot Meyers case) or who's convicted through deception and perjury (Chandra Levy case) or through a false confession (http://current.org/2014/10/this-america ... onviction/.)

My understanding is that as long as the case remains open, nobody outside the MPDC, except a private investigator, can access his files. I hope financial support is/will be available to his family to hire an independent, diligent investigator; one determined or even ruthless enough not to be intimidated by MPDC. It can't be in the interest of a police dept. to not close a case, so, the pressure not to pursue must be stronger than the pressure to close, and to come from powerful interests outside the department, I would think.

And it's interesting that Washington is headquarters for multiple national police & law enforcement agencies and that its police dept. is in close proximity & contact with many of them. Since Rich was a Capitol Hill employee, wouldn't the MPDC have sealed his office right after the murder and sought the cooperation of the Capitol Police Dept, along w/other agencies, to solve a crime so high profile, it got the attention of the Democratic Party's presidential candidate?

I've tried to follow Seth Rich's case but due to my own catastrophic experience in Washington and resulting long, traumatic & fruitless experience w/the D.C. Police, I tend to zone out. Consequently I know I'm more projective than objective but, still, experience is experience, and they do have some history of corruption.

Yeah, and how convenient to blame Russia. I think my hearing comprehension must be whacked."Native American (?) speakers of English" is all he has to reveal about his 'credible sources' and did he actually say that any knowledgeable informant(s) would have to "skedaddle" from Washington or be "whacked" and that probably there's pressure on MPDC from the Mayor to keep the case going (I assume he means forward) for re-election purposes (not until 2018)? Since he's fronting over $100K in reward money, it could be in his best interest that the case not be solved.

Any NLPer's out there to evaluate Burkman's body language--eyes gazing upwards to the left to access visual memory and all that

Yeah, and according to Burkman, this nation isn't about Republicans or Democrats; we're all "One big political fraternity". On Capitol Hill, many of their fraternity members carry some very heavy political clout, the weight of which could surely move forward the homicide case investigation on another member, Seth Rich.

WikiLeaks link as cops seek answers

Six months after a Democratic National Committee staffer was gunned down on a Washington, D.C., street, suspicion that he may have been the source who passed incriminating DNC emails on to WikiLeaks persists despite his own parents' strong doubts.

Seth Rich, who was killed July 10 and would have turned 28 earlier this month, worked as a DNC data analyst and had recently built a database for spurring voter turnout. Despite speculation -- fueled by WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange's own cryptic comments -- that he may have provided some of the emails that rocked the 2016 presidential election, Rich's father rejects such rumors.

“Anyone who knew Seth knew that wasn’t the way he would have handled the problem," Rich’s father, Joel Rich, told FoxNews.com in an exclusive interview, calling Assange’s statements “bizarre.” "He would not go outside the system.”

Like the Washington police, Rich believes his son was more likely killed in a robbery gone awry.

“The reason Seth was killed is probably because he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said his father. “There are all kinds of scenarios, but until something else is proven, these are just scenarios.”

Rich was a cheerful, compassionate person, who wanted to make a positive impact, said his father.

“Seth above all wanted to make a difference in the world," Rich said of his son. "At work, Seth was able to extend his desire to make everyone feel included to the basic right to vote in American elections.”

One reason for the speculation that Rich may have leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks is that Assange offered a $20,000 reward leading to the arrest of the killers. That sum, added to Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman's $100,000 reward and the D.C. police's $25,000, tally more than any other reward offered in such a case in the nation’s capital.

During an Aug. 9 interview on Dutch television and in subsequent media interviews, Assange implied that Rich was killed because he was the WikiLeaks source of emails from top DNC officials showing they conspired to stop Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont from becoming the party’s presidential nominee. That controversy resulted in Debbie Wasserman Schultz having to resign as DNC chairperson.

“We're interested in anything that might be a threat to alleged WikiLeaks sources, Assange later told Fox News Channel.

On the morning of his death, Rich had left his favorite watering hole, Lou’s City Bar, about 1 a.m. to walk home, something that normally took 20 or 30 minutes. He tried twice to call his father, who had gone to sleep. He then called a fraternity brother and after that had two separate conversations with his girlfriend, Kelsey Mulka. Around 4:17 a.m., when Rich was about a block and a half from his home, his girlfriend heard other voices over the phone but was reassured by Rich that he was nearly home. Two minutes later, Rich was shot multiple times. Rich died at a nearby hospital.

Security footage from a nearby market showed two men following Rich through a crosswalk by his home moments before he was shot, FoxNews.com has learned. The camera only captured the assailants’ legs and Rich after he was shot and fell onto the street.

Police said Rich, who was shot twice in the back, was likely the victim of a robbery, though nothing of value, including his wallet, phone, keys, watch and gold necklace, were stolen.

“The Metropolitan Police Department is committed to bringing the person or persons responsible for Seth Rich’s death to justice, D.C. police told FoxNews.com in a statement. "As we mark the six-month anniversary of his death, we urge anyone with information to come forward and help bring his family the answers they deserve.”

Rich would have had access to sensitive DNC information. His main duty at the DNC was to build an online system to get out the vote. The system, which combines government data, technologies and formats from all 50 states, allows anyone to check if they are registered to vote and, if not, where to register and how.

His talent was noticed. Four days before he was killed, Hillary Clinton’s campaign had offered Rich a job, according to his father. His parents believe he would have accepted the position.

On August 3 of last year, Rich’s parents went to D.C., where they attended a tribute to their son at Lou’s City Bar.

“About 150 people came and the event went on for hours,” his father said, noting many of his friends shared fond memories.

Many of those same friends have done work in the community in his honor. On Jan. 3, just a day before what would have been his 28th birthday, Rich's friends volunteered at the D.C. Humane Society, a place Rich had served.

“This was rewarding and made my wife Mary and I feel good that Seth touched people who also want to make a difference.”

Joel Rich said his son was a people person, someone who went out of his way to welcome new people into his circle. He was a patriot, who often dressed in red, white and blue and slept with an American flag above his bed.

“What makes Seth stand out is wanting to help others and wanting to make a difference," his father said. "As a parent, you always think your children are great, but after speaking to people who knew him who started calling the day after he was killed, we realized we didn’t have to be as modest about what we said about him.”

WASHINGTON (ABC7) —

ABC 7 News has learned of a new development in the search for the killers of Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee worker shot to death in the District. We have the exclusive first look at new billboards going up in the neighborhood where he was murdered.

I-Team Investigator Scott Taylor obtained the preview today of the art work that will be included on billboards and bus stops. It asks "Do you know who murdered Seth Rich"?

A $130,000 reward is mentioned on the billboards. D.C. attorney Jack Burkman is behind much of that reward along with D.C. Police and WikiLeaks. It also mentions a website that will launch today dedicated to tracking down the people responsible for Rich's murder.

The 27-year old was a data analyst for the DNC and was murdered near his D.C. home in July. Police call it a botched robbery and have no suspects.

Why haven't the police or family representatives released toxicology findings to debunk disreputable medias like 'The Daily Mail', who reported Rich as very drunk (blame the victim) and also walking in high risk areas (if so, why wasn't he robbed there and then)? And, if drunk, wouldn't he have been a much easier target to rob of valuables? (If he was carrying his laptop and/or a brief case and it was taken by his killers, that would have been the real 'valuable', right?)

Interesting statements from POTUS Obama that are counter to the actions taken to close Russian outposts in the USA and to send Russian diplomats back to Russia. Evidently the USA intelligence counter to media reports did not confirm that Russia hacked the election or gain access to embarrassing DNC emails subsequently released.

Obama Parting Shot Aims At Brennan, Clapper, Clinton: "The DNC Emails Were Leaked"

Three U.S. Intelligence Agencies (CIA, NSA and FBI) claim that IT-Systems of the Democratic National Committee were "hacked" in an operation related to the Russian government. They assert that emails copied during the "hack" were transferred by Russian government related hackers to Wikileaks which then published them.

President Obama disagrees. He says those emails were "leaked".

Wikileaks had insisted that the emails it published came from an insider source not from any government. The DNC emails proved that the supposedly neutral Democratic Party committee had manipulated the primary presidential elections in favor of the later candidate Hillary Clinton. This made it impossible for the alternative candidate Bernie Sanders to win the nomination. Hillory Clinton, who had extremely high unfavorable ratings, lost the final elections.

The President of the United States disagrees with those Intelligence Services. He says that the DNC emails were "leaked", i.e. copied by an insider, and then transferred to Wikileaks. (At the time around the leaking the DNC IT-administrator Seth Rich was found murdered for no apparent reason in the streets of Washington DC. The murder case was never solved.)

Here is President Obama in his final press conference yesterday (vid @8:31):

First of all, I haven't commented on WikiLeaks, generally. The conclusions of the intelligence community with respect to the Russian hacking were not conclusive as to whether Wikileaks was witting or not in being the conduit through which we heard about the DNC emails that were leaked.

The DNC emails "that were leaked" - not "hacked" or "stolen" but "leaked".

One wonders if this is a parting shot is primarily aimed at the involved Intelligence Agencies led by James Clapper and John Brennan. Or is dissing Hillary Clinton and her narrative the main purpose?

The presidential judgement could change the political pressure towards a new cold war with Russia if the mainstream media would pick it up and discuss it. But the media are widely invested in the "hacking" claims (and even create their own ones from hot air). They are also furthering the  anti-Russian narrative. We therefore can not expect that they will report this presidential parting shot at all.
