Highly recommended radio piece that illustrates exactly this just beautifully (horrifically)JULY 28TH 2017: BARBADOS EXAMINED (Latino Media Collective)
On this episode, the LMC speaks with Jason Opal, the assoc professor of History & Classical Studies @ McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He will tell us about the extraordinary brutal history of slavery and the struggle for social justice in Barbados. The slave state of Barbados was so horrific, the future USA took notes.
