No. I'm just surprised COVID-19 has so scarred anyone that they'd compare mitigation measures with the Nazi's systematic extermination of Jews.
Yeah, those "common sense" COVID-18 "mitigation measures" that you love so much have nothing whatsoever to do with your wildly outsized fear of COVID-19. No, it is I who must be scarred for not welcoming your desired future in which all admission to all public places requires the correct Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Brother QR Code approval.
You know, "mitigation measures."
This is getting ridiculous. I "love so much"? "Wildly outsized fear?"
The Covid controversy bores me. I don't spend time reading about it beyond skimmng this thread. I caught Covid around twenty months ago when a visiting friend was careless about "a really nasty flu" he wasn't quite over. It wasn't a big deal for me to stay home and refuse visitors until I was fully over it. I guess you could say my freedom was taken away for ten days.
The wildly outsized fear I see is likening Covid responses to Nazi genocide. I don't see a monolithic global conspiracy to crush the human spirit with N95 masks. I see competing and overlapping "reset" plans and doubtless some small faction says, "Why not just kill off the unproductive retirees?" And why wouldn't they?
Does Big Brother QR Code mean I'll be forced to own a smartphone? I'd rather not.
Come on. Surely by now you see that vigorous objections to policies are NOT due (at least primarily) to 'temporary quarantine' or mask use by itself. It's about the
coercions, the harmful and unnecessary lockdown measures, the
forced medical interventions to maintain status, movement or livelihood (employment, grocery shopping, etc), as an eventual push towards an ID tracking system that can then not only manage and monitor activities but also limit or restrict them as well.
This is what's happening, right now, in some places worse than others, but left unchecked it appears to be the intention to push this globally.
This was never about a virus. If it turns out there's truth to some of the more recent allegations raised here, death figures were not only manipulated but also purposely padded by culling those in long term care or nursing facilities (and other poor souls that were checked into hospitals, particularly during those earlier months of 2020).
One other point: the yellow star was initially used, ostensibly, as a means to more easily track the Jews/undesirables, well before it escalated to the point where they were sent off to death camps (and as we know, when it eventually got to that point, even as the trains were being filled with passengers, many jews refused to believe they were being sent off to their end. It was too inexplicable to accept. Until it happened).
Some of this should sound familiar:
On September 1, 1941, the Reich Minister of the Interior decreed that Jews over the age of six in the Greater German Reich were required to wear a yellow Star of David on their outer clothing in public at all times. While ghettos were generally not established in Germany, strict residence regulations forced Jews to live in designated areas of German cities, concentrating them in “Jewish houses” (“Judenhäuser”).
Within Germany, the sight of neighbors forced to wear the yellow badge often elicited sympathy from non-Jewish Germans. This response was widespread enough that the Ministry of Propaganda and Enlightenment felt compelled to issue pamphlets instructing Germans on how they should respond when encountering neighbors wearing the yellow star.
(A reminder, once again, that in urban areas in particular many of the unvaccinated are in the labor/struggling classes, or are minorities. Proof of vaccination will have more direct and immediate harms to the lower classes, broadly. Outright discrimination)
I'm not suggesting a yellow star serves as a viable protest symbol. But to colorfully object with its comparison (a comparison,
not a direct parallel) to current govt activities/policies is to be blind to what's happening out there, right now.
And we're not yet at peak madness.
