At Ft. Sumter, the Federals had a ship ready to gtfo into waters they controlled.

Extra points for anyone who can name the battle (no looking) where the Spartans surrendered, too.

This has ominous undertones in its references to a decadent, degenerate "western culture", no doubt referencing the rights of women and sexual minorities...

But on the whole it is much more rational, cool and even conciliatory still than anything our dear leaders say in their unhinged diatribes that seems to be about a completely different person than the actual Putin, making that speech.

It's worth listening to, to get a concise summation of the Russian position.

Compared to the current American political elite's 1980's Sylvester Stallone type rhetoric, Putin seems like an old school statesman ffs. He even employs dry irony. Not something Joe Biden seems to be constitutionally capable of, especially with his rapidly dwindling mental state... There are now occasions in most of his public speeches of complete nonsensical blabbering.

I never expected the world to get THIS crazy. This OVERTLY crazy.

Is it OK if I simply ignore the Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Over a long lifetime of corporate media frenzies, I have learned that whenever corporate media is lockstep in provoking outrage, there almost always an ulterior motive worth fighting against.

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, though, I intuit that the ulterior motive is simply to get me to pay close and rapt attention to this invasion at the exclusion of every other way that the Great Reset is insidiously tightening its totalitarian grip on the entire "free world" that is now totally unified in its monolithic, unnuanced, constant and continually broadcast outrage at Bond villain Putin.

Am I missing something? Is there a deeper ulterior motive to this blanket corporate media coverage that I need to be attending to?

That's definitely got something tot do with it hey.

But its more than that.

Look at the outrage about sposed thermobaric bombing in Ukraine. Or the dead kids. etc etc

The louder people yell about this stuff the easier it is for them to ignore the bombing of kids in Yemen, thermobaric weapons in Afghanistan etc etc. All the crimes the west has committed this century. There is a desperation and a frenzy about this propaganda war that is hiding some deep shame about how we as a society have behaved since the end of the cold war.

And fuck Putin. He's a piece of shit.

but its stupid to pretend we're any better.

Count me in with the anti-imperialists and those calling out the hypocrisy in coverage. I don't dispute that imperialistic aggression by more powerful countries against less powerful countries is bad. I just don't understand the totally selective 24-7 outrage.

This is called conspiracy theory. Simply put, the NWO elite are making their play to bring Russia to heel.. If they succeed, China will be next and then the planet is theirs. They will not succeed imho, nuclear Armageddon is more likely at some point.

The US government updated their advice to citizens in the event of a Nuclear attack:

HOW TO STAY SAFE IN THE EVENT OF A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION

. . .

When you have reached a safe place, try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household. If possible, wear a mask if you’re sheltering with people who are not a part of your household. Children under two years old, people who have trouble breathing, and those who are unable to remove masks on their own should not wear them.

. . .

If you are sick and need medical attention, contact your healthcare provider for instructions. If you are at a public shelter, immediately notify the staff at that facility so they can call a local hospital or clinic. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 and let the operator know if you have, or think you might have, COVID-19. If you can, put on a mask before help arrives.

. . .

No mate, I'm at the Gold Coast, no floods where I am. How about you, I have family in Lismore who escaped the bullet, just, but most apparently didn't.

Huge explosion of government building in Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. Have avoided posting warporn videos but this is verifiable and quite significant in scale(doesn't show any dead people).

EDIT: Actually the missile struck just outside the building.

Glad you're okay.

How did the Goldy not get smashed? Everywhere else did.

I'm at the top of the catchment for a creek/river that feeds into Wilson's River at Lismore. We're alright on top of a hill but the roads are fucked.

The bridge on the SW side is 100m down the creek and the road on the NE has been washed out. There is a several meter deep chasm where the road used to be. We're cut off and probably will be for a while. We'll be getting low on food soon. Altho we'll be right if we never got reconnected to the rest of the world again. By food I mean stuff like ice cream, chocolate and milk. My next door neighbour brews home brew tho so we're good on that front. And we're already working out ways to get out via tracks, driveways and what have you.

My brother in law and his family got out, just, but their house is under water in Lismore, they escaped with about a bag of their stuff, that's about it. Other friends are in a similar boat.

It was like this last year as well but not quite as intense.

Sorry to go off topic on your thread drstrangelove, just a little catch up with Joe if you will suffer it.

Well it seems you have planned well being on top of a hill Joe, and so long as you are pretty much self sufficient, the road problem will get fixed in time so no big drama except for the ice cream.

Roads got flooded at the Gold Coast and no doubt some houses, but no large scale inundation that I'm aware of. Being a coastal region, there are numerous little creeks and rivers that take the water to the sea, and the Hinze Dam that catches a lot of water that would otherwise cause flooding.

So to come back on topic, you seem to be well positioned wrt self sufficiency where you are if this Russian - Ukraine/NATO war leads to WWIII. I do think that Russia moving to nuclear alert status is not a bluff, there are serious fault lines developing in the transitioning to a NWO one world government. But keep it to yourself, if the SHTF, you don't want to be inundated by the hordes. Stay well Joe, and your family.
