US liberals are currently the world’s #1 apologists for Nazis and it’s not even close. Here the NYT grudgingly acknowledges Ukraine’s Nazi problem not because they’re Nazis, but because their Nazism “threatens to reinforce Russian propaganda”:@nytimes
The decision by some Ukrainian soldiers to wear patches with Nazi icons threatens to reinforce Russian propaganda used to justify the invasion. It also could give the symbols mainstream life after the West's decades-long efforts to eliminate them.

Commentary: Ukraine’s neo-Nazi problem
By Josh Cohen, Commentary

As Ukraine’s struggle against Russia and its proxies continues, Kiev must also contend with a growing problem behind the front lines: far-right vigilantes who are willing to use intimidation and even violence to advance their agendas, and who often do so with the tacit approval of law enforcement agencies.

Many of the National Militia's members come from the Azov movement, one of the 30-odd privately-funded “volunteer battalions” that, in the early days of the war, helped the regular army to defend Ukrainian territory against Russia's separatist proxies. Although Azov uses Nazi-era symbolism and recruits neo-Nazis into its ranks, a recent article in Foreign Affairs downplayed any risks the group might pose, pointing out that, like other volunteer militias, Azov has been “reined in” through its integration into Ukraine’s armed forces. While it’s true that private militias no longer rule the battlefront, it’s the home front that Kiev needs to worry about now.
The destruction (https://t.me/DDGeopolitics/67342) of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station blown up by the UKR according to initial reports.
In that case, more than 80 settlements, including Kherson, will be in the zone of rapid flooding. Hundreds of thousands of people could be affected.
The destruction of the HPP could leave the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant without water for cooling.
...exclude the possibility of supplying water to Crimea in the coming years.

I feel silly for believing that Russia would be smarter than to do exactly what was expected of it by Western propagandists and populations hungry for a final showdown (which in reality of course will involve the dismantling of global civilization).
But then, Putin is a chauvinist thug. So there's that.
What I find most distasteful here in Finland is the almost RELIEVED and eager atmosphere of finally being able to unleash all the pent up rage at Russia with full justification. War as a sport. Humanity is ugly.
The Russian defence ministry has released dramatic footage of anti-tank missiles blowing up German-made Leopard tanks along the frontline in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia. The black-and-white footage comes a day after Russia claimed to have thwarted a major attack along the frontline areas. In another video, Russian paratroopers can be seen 'crushing the enemy' with BMD-4M armoured fighting vehicles. Watch this video for more updates from the Russia-Ukraine conflict zone.
