In addition to the recent harsh and even threatening attacks against the NYT and it's <a href="http://glenngreenwald.blogspot.com/2006/07/thug-and-intimidation-tactics-of-far.html" target="top">reporters and photographers</a> over their printing of not only the SWIFT program, which was undoubtedly known to any so-called "terrorists", but also the disclosure of the supposed undisclosed location of Rumsfeld and Cheney,(right-wingers in a preemptive strike?) here comes Peter Hoekstra, proclaiming: <blockquote>Quote:<hr>..said he was informed about the programs by whistleblowers in the intelligence community and then asked the Bush administration about the programs, using code names. Perhaps it does, perhaps not. But what is the "major" "significant" intelligence activity that Hoekstra says he has learned about from whistleblowers, not from the White House? Under what authority was the head of the House intelligence committee not briefed of a major intelligence activity undertaken by the administration? And where are Hoekstra's Senate intel committee counterparts? Jane Harman? Were they briefed? And why is Hoekstra making sure his concerns are coming to light now in the Post, the NYT and Fox? I saw a McDonald's commercial that showed an alarm clock at 7:16 and my first thought was that maybe something would happen on that day. Ridiculous, but synchronicity does happen.

Of course, this is the guy who (along with Santorum) was waving around some pre-Gulf War I shells with sarin as proof of 'WMDs' being found in Iraq just a week ago. And probably still is. They weren't pushing some product with ranch dressing, were they? The McDonald Ranch at Alamogordo was where they assembled the first atomic bomb to be tested. The Trinity test took place on July 16 1945, at 5:29:45 A.M. Who sets their alarm clock for 7:16 anyway? I actually do often set mine for 16 past, or 46, just something a little bit more asymmetrical than the straight quarters. I don't know why, it's just a little quirk and I've done it for years. After all, there's no particular reason you have to set an alarm for the 15, 30, 45, 00 numbers, or the multiples of 5. One could make an argument that using those numbers is just as obscessive-compulsive as avoiding them is.

Nevertheless, that association you found is still pretty freaky. I'm currently reading The Secret Cipher of the UFOnauts, which has made me think about hidden meanings. (Although a McDonald's commercial would be a synchronicity, not an intentional message.)

Right now where I am its exactly 61 years and 12 hours, or was when I pressed reply. I am on the other side of the Pacific, probably about 12 to 17 hours ahead of wherever that Ranch is. I wonder what the next few hours will bring (just more peace here and slaughter in the middle east most likely).
