Ianeye,
You may have the app Graphic Converter bundled with your system software. It'll do what you need.

Relax, hugh, there's going to be many images that don't make it through for reasons of bandwidth consumption or server blocks against hot-linking..
____________________
Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night.

I love the images thread, but there were so many brutally violent and inhuman images...I thought it needed some humanity.

Werner Herzog quote

Postby orz » Sat Aug 05, 2006 11:34 am

Quote:
We have understood that the destruction of the environment is another enormous danger. But I truly believe that the lack of adequate imagery is a danger of the same magnitude. It is as serious a defect as being without memory. What have we done to our images? What have we done to our embarrassed landscapes? I have said this before and will repeat it again as long as I am able to talk: if we do not develop adequate images we will die out like dinosaurs.

Guys, if you place more than one or two images in your individual posts you'll make it a nightmare for dial-up users to view thread pages. Sweejak, you have dozens of images per post that are going to make viewing for certain people impossible, so hang back a little; 2-3 per post tops, please. There's a big difference between loading 15-20 images per page and loading 50-60..
____________________
Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night.

Sometimes my online friends and I try ot communicate with only pictures. Usually a conversation has already started and so it's easy to play off the text and get it rolling.

The Umbrella Man and Radio Man

Postby FourthBase » Tue Aug 22, 2006 10:34 pm

Had to resurrect this thread...Because those pics reminded me that those two guys are the only perps unquestionably caught on existing film. It's too bad none of the pics capture their faces better. I'm sure there were some photos/films that did, but were confiscated. Anyway, it's always mind-boggling when looking at them to realize: Holy shit, there are two of the perps...right there...caught. If they're never identified, there's at least the consolation that those photos of them -- pumping an umbrella, using on a walkie-talkie, just sitting there relaxed scoping out the aftermath -- are proof of a conspiracy. And the complexion of the Radio Man indicates that part of the conspiracy involved Cubans.

I know what you mean. Those are some of the most haunting images of that day for me.

There has been some pretty solid work done on identifying the "dark-complected man," though I don't have the links handy. And Russell in The Man Who Knew Too Much hears from a gusano about taking delivery of walkie talkies to be used by the Cuban operatives during the hit.
