What I cant get my head around regarding Hancock.

Postby slimmouse » Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:50 pm
What I cant understand about Hancock, is why he should suggest that the Sphinx's head was originally that of a lion ?

Perhaps it my own foible, and perhaps I need to listen to other sources. I believe that we are genetically engineered from the Lion and the Ape, although I would willingly stand corrected.

One thing I did find fascinating about the last video, was the idea that the female uterus is about the closest thing to a black hole that modern physics can find.

No snarky comments please.

This is something else my mentor recently harped on to me about.

Edited - replaced womb with Uterus

Edited by: slimmouse at: 9/27/06 6:54 pm

Anomolous Archeology Notes

Postby JD » Thu Sep 28, 2006 12:00 am

Hancock and Bauval thought ithe Sphinx Lion as it faced the constellation Leo in the time they estimated the Sphinx was built.

Some of what Bauval especially did is pretty neat work.

Overall I'm not convinced they are right; BUT the whole "New Age archeology movement" is bringing up good questions to challenge convention.

I watched the first two of the J. A. West Videos and enjoyed them.

There was a fantastic article on the Brazilian Lost Cities in the New Yorker, September 19th 2005. No internet link I can find. If this interests you go to the library and read the article. It is kick ass.

Percy Fawcett - fascinating guy - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_Fawcett

Good background prior to reading the New Yorker article.

Crap, doing some internet searches on Fawcett I'm shocked how crappy of returns Google is yielding. This has to be by design.

My favourite anomolous archeology is this - Baalbeck - all photos below have people in for scale - the size is beyond belief:

www.geocities.com/jirimruzek/baalbek.htm

On "The Giza Power Plant" - I've corresponded with Chris Dunn, its author. Smart guy, I like him. He's got integrity. I didn't particularily like that book; but earlier he did some really good work on ancient machining. This is top notch stuff:

www.gizapower.com/Advanced/Advanced%20Machining.html

www.gizapower.com/petrie/petrie1.htm

www.gizapower.com/Articles/return.html
