<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>Friday, October 20, 2006</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--><br><br>SPANAWAY, Wash. - A Spanaway family whose 5-year-old was nearly abducted by a man in a gorilla suit is upset that police let the man go after the incident.<br><br>The attempted abduction happened Aug. 2 inside the B & I Marketplace. Store surveillance video shows the man clearly coming up behind the boy and running off with him with his parents in hot pursuit. <br><br>"I didn't realize what happened until I heard my son screaming in terror. That's the moment I knew it was him," said the boy's father, Anthony Santiago.<br><br>The boy's abductor didn't make it very far with the boy, and he was held until police could arrive.<br><br>The police questioned the man after the incident, <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>but for some reason witnesses say they let him go</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END-->. <br><br> "They had pictures of the guy in the costume, out of the costume. Security saw the guy take the mask off. There was no denying he was who he was and they let him go," said April Santiago said.<br><br>Lakewood police did not return our calls, but Crimestoppers did release a picture of the suspect.<br><br>The Santiagos are relieved that they got their son back, but they fear what this man could do next.<br><br>"Who knows how many times he's done this. Who knows how far he's gotten.
