Oh man, those last two posts had as much of teh hot as two posts could possibly have. Although the first one reawakened my resentment that I don't run the world, since if I did, first of all, Nathan Lane would never have been cast as Gomez in the now-in-development Broadway musical adaptation of The Addams Family, and second of all, Alan Cummings would always have been cast as Gomez in the now-in-development Broadway musical adaptation of The Addams Family.

Sweejak, you got a malformed video id on the Jorge Ben version. But I've discovered that it's nothing that deleting the last six characters won't fix. So, you know, do whatever your heart tells you to do. That Brasil '66 version caused me to time-travel, btw. Oddly enough to a time and place in the past where they were playing the Nile Rogers remix of The Reflex and there was lots of cocaine. Although just letting Mr. Rogers tweak your mind around with his coke-like-high-inducing hard pans and other assorted tricks can render the actual substance superfluous, if you listen to it on really big speakers at high volume. I have found. Belatedly.

Soul Man

If I 'd written a song that gave Steve Cropper the opportunity to play like that, I'd have died happy, as I hope with all my heart that Ike did. RIP.

Songs from Remote Control, one of my very favorite records from the late '70's, produced by Todd Rungren...

The Tubes - Turn Me On

The Tubes - Prime Time

The Tubes - No Way Out

And a live cut of Fee and the group covering Gene Pitney:
The Tubes - Town Without Pity
