Re: The "show off your Avatar" thread
Nice of you to say, Peregrine. I'm a little ashamed to say I just stole this avatar from someone on another board, far far away, without even knowing who the comicbook character is (I'm assuming its a comic book character.) I just loved the shades, the smile, the cigarette... I needed to shed the pink elephant in a bad way, and it was an impetuous choice.

the question is why, who, why, what, why, when, why and why again?

Re: The "show off your Avatar" thread
Oh, nathan28. Thank you so much.
Is it okay if I disown all responsibility for picking them in some way to be determined later?
Because I really can't think of one that's plausible right now. And if I started feeling as tickled pink by that compliment as I'd be if I just graciously accepted it without deflecting credit, the next thing you know, all my self-esteem-level indicators would be flashing red and the whole system would crash.
It would be kind of like that Star Trek episode where Kirk makes the well-intentioned computer admit that it's evil. Although that may have happened more than once, now that I come to think of it. But you know the one I mean. The one that was a metaphor for the cold war. All right, fine. The one that G--gle informs me was called "Return of the Archons," which first ran on February 9, 1967 as Episode 21 of the original series. Does that refresh your memory? Finally? Well, thank heaven for that, at least.
In any event. As I was trying to say when you interrupted me: In the meantime, I suppose I'll just have to be thrilled in safe mode. Whee! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Also, isn't that Wobblies logo the best? They practically deserve to prevail just for having stood by it for all these years, imo.

Re: The "show off your Avatar" thread
^^That's a beautiful avatar Sunny. (In 1981 or 82 I got lucky and saw Kathleen Turner play Titania in a production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in Washington. She was beautiful too).
I also like Maddy's new avatar.

Re: The "show off your Avatar" thread
Thanks Cordelia. So wish I could have seen Kathleen Turner playing Titania, I bet she was great! In the one production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' I have seen, the actress playing Titania left, shall we say, a lot to be desired.
I re-read the play in the last several days and got enchanted with the fairy Queen all over again.

Check the file size(against the info in the Control Panel), it may be too big. Or the dimensions - it may be too tall?
