From the "Thanks to sunny" thread:

I dunno that it is, but that's what I'd like it to be, and that aspiration was the only reason, after multiple unheeded warnings, for Mac's seven day time out.

And this is the internet, where people fight and most threads are derailed in about two pages. He can usually articulate his opinion even if his manner is extremely abrasive. chlamor, who isn't banned but may not be around, did the same, and drew fire for it. E.g., come on, Bruce Springsteen is a Nazi? Yeah, everything he did since Asbury Park sucks and he's a stadium butt-rocker. Whatever, if anyone listened to the lyrics they'd realize he isn't a freaking apologist and he's said he's terrified by his audience's creepy triumph of the willisms. IIRC Mac got in on that fight, too, and of course, because it was absurd and bombastic and a chance to hit a few targets of opportunity related to other concerns. There's no reason to bite your keyboard on the internet if you feel compelled to get involved, and there's so much egg broken around here there'd be enough omelets to feed half of Queens. I mean, fuck it, people are welcome to post ch*mtr**ls bullshit or pro-police brutality authority-worshiping bootlicking in any thread I start, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to call them fucking retarded. This is in English. Acrimony
is what we do, and certainly beats revenge killings.
That's fine. but as I said above, I will no longer walk on eggshells. I will respond in kind, those threads will likely get locked, and I will get banned. Too bad about the collateral damage.

Alice left? Huh? Apparently it's my not-birthday and/or not-Christmas?

Goodbye 17...
Though I never knew you at all...

...And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a fart in the wind
Always knowing who to bitch to
When the blame set in...

Well I actually think she left because of me rather than the Great But Boring Battle of teh Breezes, so I wasn't really going to key on that one.

She's probably laying low due to the disharmony and strife. That's my guess anyway.

I haven't been around long but it was my impression that Mac was not at all boorish until breezes showed up. I thought Mac was doing some trick and fancy mirroring for breezes (overkill works sometimes in making a point). But what do I know?

Even though Skillful Means is always available, people choose other....and there is a place for healthy anger
I choose other more often than not.

Eyeball to eyeball is preferable - words on a page, and general cyber mistrust muddy the waters.

Though I haven't seen him in 7 years - which seem like nothing to me, I'm still stuck in 2003 at the latest - Mac is a great guy in person and one of this board's best and funniest, and I certainly hope he is neither banished nor disinclined to return.
