Gos, I've edited your post to accurately reflect AD's quotes.

And re disruption and discord, if you don't let this go now, I'll have to agree.

May I ask why?

I do? Could you direct me to the part where I was given an explanation or justification for why I should be banned? Because as far as I can tell the only thing I've done is assert that prostitution MAY not be a particularly moral profession, and that it's curious that in this day and age (on this board) the commodification of one's sexuality is an accepted norm.

Gee, I miss all the fun when I'm away, but I had to quote this gem:
Gos wrote:
Yet I do place myself morally above the sex workers of the world because I can honestly say that feigning interest in what one of my customers wants to talk about carries no risk whatsoever of causing the kind of existential pain that drives people to suicide. I don't fuck married people for money because I don't want to profit from the worst deception one human being can delude another into believing. Whoopty fucking doo, right?

Thanks for showing lowly 'ol me me your shining morals. I see the light, man. I am such a dirty deceptive whore who feigns interest in my clients. Yeah, you got me pegged to a 'T'! I love getting this crap from people who don't even know me or how I conduct my self or my business, & I'm not about to explain myself to someone who judges me in such a fashion & who views me as beneath them. I say fuck 'em.
I'm just curious as to why someone that DOES do such a thing is an acceptable voice of authority on a board that I thought was about, among other things, morality and generosity of spirit.
Because I think assholes have a right to voice their opinions, too, man. I wouldn't have banned you for this crapola, I would have let you have your say & gotten it outta your system.

Pledge allegiance to the flag of Bohemia, take oaths of celibacy and poverty, and tithe 20% of your income to Our Lady of the Border Collies.

Only then will I accept a moderator as legitimate. And they'd better be BORN in Bohemia, none of this Hawaii-missing-birth-certificate bullshit.

Hmm. I might actually consider that one myself (well, for a month or two) — as long as the money actually went to the border collies.

What wonderful dogs.

Hi Peregrine, your appointment as moderator is an excellent choice, reflecting Jeff's effort, I'd say, to maintain a fair-minded forum. I don't envy your job (as moderator); from time to time it's bound to call for difficult judgements and actions.

(I wanted to chime in after reading that Gos guy; for someone who "don't like confrontation that much" he sure went to a lot of trouble to launch and defend a completely uncalled-for attack, not to mention his provocatively offensive language. yeesh.)

Thankyouverymush....
No, Beeline, I've never even been to Tennessee, but Graceland does sound like a trip. I'm not a huge Elvis Presley fanatic or anything, but I do like his music, and can play some of his tunes on guitar!

Maybe this could be Peregrine's hard-line moderator theme song:

My apologies to you folks for my lack of moderating... I've been rather busy the last couple months with my bloke starting a renovation & woodworking business, which is a good thing. But my guilt eats away at me a little for not being at RI!

Congratulations on the new business.

And as far as your moderating goes, I just figured you were being very moderate about it.
