What reason is there to do it on such an obscure website? Makes no sense. I'm sorry if I broke the rules, just had to express that.
Also, Carl Sagan is the man, still. I wish he were here to comment on all the new crop circles.
Please don't express it again, undead. The charge or insinuation of "disinfo agent" can almost never be proven, and poisons and often ends meaningful discussion. Therefore suggesting a poster is purposefully spreading disinformation is not permitted.

Just noticed that Nordic had already beaten undead to the punch.
What do you cats think?
I haven't put either of these warnings in their user notes as "official" warnings, because they both seem pretty minor.Bruce Dazzling wrote:Nordic, I just gave the same warning to undead.Nordic wrote:hugh singlehandedly ensures that this site will never be anything more than an internet backwater for "conspiracy theorists" if you know what i mean.
either he's insane, or that's his job. you decide.
Please refrain from this type of accusation. It's counterproductive. The charge or insinuation of "disinfo agent" can almost never be proven, and poisons and often ends meaningful discussion. Therefore suggesting a poster is purposefully spreading disinformation is not permitted.
Thanks

Re: Undead accusing Hugh of sock puppetry
You're right, that's too small to warrant that. I've rarely used the "official" warnings. Only when it was either that, or a ban. (Though that's not to suggest we shouldn't use them more often than that.)
[on edit:] That's a lot of thats.

Re: Undead accusing Hugh of sock puppetry
Whatever Hugh really might be, "sock puppet" is probably the wrong term anyway.
I think I've issued formal warnings only twice in my tenure as a mod, and both times it was because I was under the influence of an irresistable urge to ban someone and I sated that desire through the formal warning mechanism. I was at the "if you do that one more time..." moment.
But I think it lets people know you kinda mean business.
