The News of the World Online, that is, founded by (feel free to google the name for entertainment) Giovanni di Stefano, up before the beak later this month on a series of serious criminal charges involving stealing a car, money laundering and impersonating a lawyer, having previously claimed to be lawyer to Saddam, Gaddafi, Arkan, Charles Manson, and so on.
Anyway, that story is definitly worth a read.

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

This story is actually worth taking a look at, even if just for amusement
Di Stefano's definitely been involved with hardcore organized crime groups, too. Without even knowing his long past of committing fraud, just learning that he co-owned a Serbian football team with Arkan is enough to tell me that.

Giovanni di Stefano is probably the world’s most controversial lawyer and music producer. Nicknamed the Devil’s Advocate, he’s defended Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic, Harold Shipman, and Gary Glitter. Plus, he ran a Serbian football team in the 90s. I gave Giovanni a call last week and we chatted about hanging out with Saddam, commanding an army during the Balkan wars, and my parents’ sex life.
...
I read that you were also defending the PMC group Blackwater in their trial after they supposedly killed some Iraqi civilians. Do you see that as a conflict of interest?
Well, they actually protected me whilst I was out there for the first few years, and then the American military took over. I never trusted the PMCs at all but, as the saying goes, “As long as there’s a gown, there’s a defense.”
...
Now, with such a long list of hated clients, have you ever received threats on your life?
Of course, yeah, all the time. At this stage now, in 2010, I work for ETA, for Islamic Jihad, I act for HAMAS, the PLO, I was friends with Arafat for years, for the FARC rebels in Columbia, for the TAMILs, I act for a number of terrorist organizations as a lawyer, I act for the IRA and the Red Brigades and most of the major terror groups across the world.

Anyways, the Schwarzenegger allegations are apparently based on an anonymous police officer from the notoriously corrupt Flying Squad. The only thing approaching evidence being given is that Arnold was probably in London at the time and that he carried his belongings in a US Mail bag, which was what the dead body was found stuffed in. He supposedly worked as a gambling collection goon at the time, with his weapon of choice being an iron bar wrapped in surgical tape or some other padding (an iron bar wrapped in surgical tape was the murder weapon). Then it is claimed that he fled the country on a ferry and continued his career.
A quick glance at Wikipedia shows that he was already getting roles in movies by the time of the early 70s. He was in Los Angeles during the period in which the NOTW article claims he was in London. This is actually pretty obvious, as he was in Robert Altman's 1973 LA noir The Long Goodbye. The article says he "first arrived in London in the early seventies" - well...

Immediately upon visiting the website to read the Schwarzenegger article, I noticed a bunch of news items in the sidebar regarding nude photos of celebrities. But hey, the man is true to his word: they didn't post the actual photos. This newspaper will deliver the news and never create news. It will deliver naked news not naked bodies. It will fight for justice and expose anyone that violates natural justice. We have chosen to lead with two stories. Two ex- politicians: one that has lied and misled the people- and now also his wife- and the second who is alleged to have been involved in murder. Both allegations are serious and we have thought long and hard before publishing. But the public interest by far outweighs the right to privacy. For far too long both have been protected from people knowing the truth by their strong and influential positions in life. In the case of one there was an order to the media not to publish and the media faithfully obeyed. It is not an offence to commit adultery but it is an indication as to the code of conduct of a person. It is also a presumption and if a person is ready to profess deep religious affiliation whilst committing adultery then what is that person prepared to do to those he once governed? This paper is not about violating the privacy of those that do not violate the privacy and lives of others. We will never create news or entrap anyone in order to create news. We will not show naked bodies and we will not support a political party that fails to govern but choses to rule. We will expose anyone anywhere where the underlining interest of justice allows and if we are wrong we will be ready to make amends. The fear of retribution is below the need to deliver news. With your support we will not be alone.

NEWS INTERNATIONAL PHONE HACKING STATEMENT BY GIOVANNI DI STEFANO
7 July 2011:
" To date I have stayed out of this matter because most of the journalists at News International like James Weatherup, Dan Evans and others I deem friends. I can however, confirm that during the so called 'ROYAL BLACKMAIL' trial involving Ian Strachan who was subsequently convicted and THROUGHOUT the period leading to the arrest of my client IAN STRACHAN, my mobile telephone was intercepted as was also that of Ian Strachan but MORE important also that of the protected witnesses and the alleged victim's (the Royal) mobile phone and voicemails were also intercepted. Now frankly, as far as my telephone is concerned I have told the police I do not give a feather or a fig because most of what it contained I would probably have given to the media in the interests of justice and advancing my client's case. However, at the trial of IAN STRACHAN fundemental was the conduct of News of the World and they were principal witnesses at trial. If thus, and I accentuate on IF THUS, the phones of myself, and the witnesses including the Royal who was the victim, was intercepted, then that would clearly give the NOTW a wholly unfair advantage and the consequences of such must be that the conviction of IAN STRACHAN should be reviewed. I do not at all blame the CPS or the Police in this because I do not for one second believe they knew. But if a principal witness in a trial has access to private material and the thoughts and strategies of lawyers and more important the other prosecution witnesses then that is clearly not only not correct but illegal, unlawful and must be subject to serious enquiry and make the conviction of Ian Strachan nothing short of a nullity."

Last year I interviewed Giovanni di Stefano, aka the Devil’s Advocate. Giovanni’s a lawyer who is well known for representing some of the world’s most evil characters in court, whether they be evil tyrant-dictators like Saddam Hussein, evil cult leaders like Charles Manson, or Gary Glitter. During last year’s interview, I wondered aloud if Giovanni would ever consider representing Adolf Hitler. Expecting a long pause or some umming and erring, Giovanni immediately replied, “Yes of course – without question”. Now it seems that Giovanni will finally get his wish (sort of).
Last year Giovanni bought several film companies and rolled them into one under the moniker Coralco-S Goldwyn-Eagle Lion Films. One of the first cinematic endeavours on Giovanni’s to do list is to shoot a film investigating how the trial of Adolf Hitler may have panned out IF the angry fuhrer hadn’t killed himself in a bunker in Berlin in 1945. On Trial: Adolf Hitler will begin with a dramatisation of American troops capturing Hitler in his bunker and transporting him to London to face trial. Over the course of seven episodes, Giovanni will act for the defence (of course) to prove that, in his eyes, Adolf Hitler was completely innocent, as according to him there is no hard evidence or proof that any of the crimes committed by the Nazi regime can be directly linked back to him.
Like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, there will be no script, and the actor who ends up playing Hitler (still TBC) will have to study the guy extensively. The jury will be made up of members of the public and, as it’s 1946, everyone will be dressed in period clothing and smoking. According to Giovanni, Lance Ito has been brought in to preside over the case. Lance was the judge on the OJ Simpson trial, meaning Hitler’s got a pretty strong chance of getting away with it. Acting for the prosecution will be Mitch Watkins, an attorney who usually oversees death row cases in Georgia. Mitch will apparently be seeking the death penalty.
Although there will be a jury present to give their own verdict, this is a thoroughly modern-day morality exercise, and as such the public will be asked to phone in to give theirs, too. It seems unlikely to me that they’re going to let Adolf off, but then I’ve never seen Giovanni in action.
Giovanni is also planning an episode that will feature the ‘what-if’ trial of Osama bin Laden. Giovanni claims to have met bin Laden back in 1998, when he was hanging out at a hotel with his old mucker Saddam. Apparently Osama turned up wearing western clothing, had really delicate, feminine hands and spoke a lot about paintings. Again, Giovanni claims there’s no hard evidence that Osama actually committed any unspeakable crimes against humanity, though that viewpoint would seem to overlook all those home videos he used to send George Bush in the post.
As Giovanni is a generous chap and for some reason loves Vice, he’s offered the first three people to email us the chance to appear as a member of the jury in the film. It’ll be like this, only with Hitler instead of Tia Carrere.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/bill-co ... 30406.htmlLord Lucan, Missing Since 1974 Murder, Is Declared Dead (Again)
By SEWELL CHAN - FEB. 3, 2016
LONDON — It was a case that riveted the world: In 1974, a dashing British aristocrat and army officer, known for his prowess at backgammon and bridge and his fondness for vodka martinis, powerboats and Aston Martin cars, vanished after the bludgeoned body of his children’s nanny was found in the basement of his family’s house in the affluent Belgravia area of London.
The aristocrat, Richard John Bingham, the seventh Earl of Lucan, was declared the killer in 1975. But he was never found, despite an international manhunt; unverified sightings in places as far-flung as Australia, Colombia, India, Paraguay, the United States and New Zealand; and endless conspiracy theories. In the United States, the case has been compared to that of Joseph Force Crater, a New York judge and bon vivant whose 1930 disappearance was never solved.
A British judge declared Lord Lucan dead in 1999, allowing the resolution of certain estate and inheritance matters, but that ruling did not definitively close the issue. Under a law that took effect in 2014, the earl’s son, George Charles Bingham, asked a court to formally issue a death certificate so that he could inherit his father’s title and become the eighth Earl of Lucan.
A High Court justice, Sarah Asplin, granted Mr. Bingham’s request in London on Wednesday. The proceeding, which attracted significant attention in the British media, was surprisingly brief for a case with such a notorious and lengthy history.
Justice Asplin’s decision came after Neil Berriman, the son of the nanny, Sandra Rivett, dropped his objection to Mr. Bingham’s petition. Mr. Berriman, who was put up for adoption as an infant, learned that his birth mother had been murdered only after his adoptive mother died. He had said that a death certificate should not be issued because of the possibility, however remote, that Lord Lucan might still be alive. (He would be 81.)
The disappearance of Lord Lucan riveted Britain. The country, like the United States, was suffering from high energy prices and a sluggish economy, and its Conservative prime minister, Edward Heath, had just been voted out of office. In 1973, Britain had joined the European Economic Community, a predecessor of the European Union; in 1976, Britain was forced to apply for an emergency loan from the International Monetary Fund.
At a time of flux and malaise, the lurid tale of aristocratic impunity astonished the country.
The search for Lord Lucan began on Nov. 7, 1974, after his estranged wife, Veronica Duncan, bleeding from head wounds, burst into a pub and shouted: “He’s in the house! He’s murdered the nanny!”
The couple had separated in 1972, and Lord Lucan had moved out of the house to a home nearby. He had heavy gambling debts and was battling his wife for custody of their three children.
Inside the house, at 46 Lower Belgrave Street, police officers found the body of Ms. Rivett, who was 29; she had been bludgeoned to death with a lead pipe and placed in a canvas mail bag in the basement. It was not clear why Lord Lucan might have killed her, but one theory is that he had mistaken her for his wife.
Soon after, a Ford Corsair that Lord Lucan had borrowed from a friend was found, abandoned and bloodstained, in Newhaven, East Sussex, southeast of London. An inquest jury declared him the killer in 1975.
When Mr. Berriman, the victim’s son, raised his objections last fall, he asked the British tabloid The Daily Mail, “Why on earth would Lord Lucan’s son want to carry on a title that is linked to a possible murderer?”
But Mr. Berriman and Mr. Bingham, who are months apart in age, appear to have reached a reconciliation. On Wednesday, they made conciliatory comments in separate remarks to reporters outside the courthouse.
“This has been a complicated case, the murder of Sandra Rivett, my mother,” Mr. Berriman said. “I feel that Mr. Bingham and myself have a great deal in common, and would sooner try to work with the family as against them.”
Mr. Berriman said “the last five years has been a roller-coaster ride of depression and stress,” but struck a conciliatory tone.
“I’d like to congratulate George Bingham on his passion for closure,” he said, adding: “This is closure and a time to move forward for him and his family. I can understand that he wants to move on with his life, but for me this is something, at this moment, cannot happen.”
Mr. Bingham, for his part, expressed compassion for Mr. Berriman’s suffering. He said his father’s fate was a mystery.
“My own personal view — and it was one I took, I think, as an 8-year-old boy — is that he’s unfortunately been dead since that time,” Mr. Bingham said. “In the circumstances, I think it’s quite possible that he saw his life at an end — regardless of guilt or otherwise — of being dragged through the courts and through the media would have destroyed his personal life, his career and the chances of getting custody of his children back. And that may well have pushed the man to end his own life. But I have no idea.”
He added: “To hear that your father is racist, a snob, a poster boy for the aristocracy in the ’70s didn’t sit very well with the rather charming, rather lovely and kind man that I knew. Nevertheless, people, if they leave a party early, get to be speculated about, don’t they?”
Was Lord Lucan Really Fed to a Tiger - Or Is It Yet Another Cover-Up?
Bill Coles - 02/02/2016
Over the years, I have come across many bizarre theories about what might have happened to the 7th Earl of Lucan - and of these, far and away the most eye-popping is the story that he was fed to John Aspinall's tiger.
This hoary old story re-emerged again at the weekend and its juicy details are just as enthralling now as when I first heard them 30 years ago; they are well worth the re-telling.
However, as with all stories that pertain to Britain's most notorious fugitive, all eye-witness accounts should be taken with a lorry-load of salt.
I go further: Lucan's friends and family would much, much prefer it if Lucan was dead. It's easier for everyone if the accepted truth is that Lucan committed suicide 41 years ago, shortly after he botched his wife's murder and killed the nanny.
He's dead, folks - nothing to see here! He's been dead since 1974 and this story is well and truly over.
Well... It's a view.
And if I may, I'd like to offer an alternative view. I should perhaps mention that over the last decade I have become something of a specialist on Lord Lucan, and have even ghosted his memoirs, Lord Lucan: My Story. (The tale of Lucan being fed to the tiger gets a passing mention on Page 13).
Now I'm not saying that the latest witness to come forward is a liar - dear me no!
What I am saying is that the two people who first promulgated the idea that Lucan killed himself were those multi-millionaire scoundrels John Aspinall (father of Damian) and Jimmy Goldsmith (father of London mayoral candidate Zac, as well as Jemima and sundry others.)
And therefore: Goldsmith and Aspinall may - perhaps, just possibly - have been telling the truth about Lord Lucan and that he did indeed blow his brains out. But it's far, far more likely that, as ever, Goldsmith and Aspinall were just spreading misinformation. Muddying the waters. That's what this unholy pair of rogues were born to do - and it is what they spent their lives doing.
But first though, and since it is such a great story, let us take a look at the deliciously grisly details of Lucan and Zorra the tiger.
The story was revealed (again) over the weekend, after one of Lord Lucan's gambling cronies, Philippe Marcq, came out of the woodwork. Interestingly, for us sceptics who think that Lucan could still be live, Marcq never actually witnessed the events that took place.
Rather, he heard the story from one of his old mates, Stephen Raphael. That rather tends to be the way of things with these Lucan stories - it's all hearsay from people who are dead.
According to Marcq, soon after Lord Lucan had killed his children's nanny, Sandra Rivett, he sought refuge with his old friend John Aspinall. [This is also described at some length in Lord Lucan: My Story. Spooky how I could have been so on the money, eh? Or perhaps I myself had my own secret sources.]
Aspinall called in a few friends, including Raphael, for a council of war at Howletts, his magnificent home in Kent.
There, or so it is claimed, Lucan admits murdering Sandra. He's also very worried that his estranged wife Veronica will get custody of not just the three children but also his estate.
There's only one way through this thicket of problems - and that would be for Lucan to kill himself and disappear. With no proof of death, Lucan's estate would be tied up for at least the next seven years, by which time, Lucan's children would be adults and capable enough of making their own decisions.
A pistol is brought out and Lucan is urged to go and do the decent thing.
What a seductive image: Lucan, alone in Aspinall's study, with a bottle of whisky and (I like to think) a pearl-handled revolver. He takes a slug of whisky, and another slug and when he's done he puts the pistol into his mouth and pulls the trigger.
It was now apparently up to Aspinall to complete the second part of the plan and properly dispose of the body. Of course he could have just buried the body somewhere on the Howletts estate, but it would undoubtedly have appealed to Aspinall's sense of the macabre to have fed Lucan to Zorra the tiger. (What did he do with the head? Do tigers eat human heads - or did Aspinall use the top of the skull as a serving dish for his caviar?)
One thing we do know for a fact is that Aspinall was later quizzed by police about the tiger theory - and told them with his usual chutzpah: "My tigers are only fed the choicest cuts - do you really think they're going to eat stringy old Lucky?"
What a terrific story! I'm not surprised it got such a good airing over the weekend.
Let me now play devil's advocate.
Far from feeding Lucan to the tigers, Aspinall (and probably Goldsmith) helped Lucan flee the country. The pair had the money and also the low-life contacts to not just whisk Lucan out to Africa, but then to set him up with a new face and a new life.
And knowing what we do about Aspinall, he would have relished helping Lucan to escape. Let us not forget that Aspinall's entire fortune was made by cheating Britain's bluebloods at his bent casinos; he loved nothing more than thumbing his nose at the police and the British establishment.
Of course that's all just theory - but this theory, how ever arcane, is at least supported by a small amount of corroborative evidence. Not that we have much to go on, but all the details that have emerged over the last four decades indicate that Lucan got away. More than that: they indicate that Lucan did indeed manage to re-invent himself. Why - Lucan would only be 81 today and, if he has mastered the wonders of the internet, could even now be reading this story. [Morning Lucky - how we doing?]
There are witnesses, credible witnesses, who saw Lucan being flown out of England in a private aircraft. We have a witness who arranged for Lucan's children to go on safari, where their dear old dad could watch them from afar through his binoculars. And, rather bizarrely, we have Lucan's old watch turning up in a pawnbrokers in South Africa.
As for the theory that Lucan committed suicide, the only evidence we have is dead men's words and the fact that he hasn't been seen since 1974.
Who knows, who knows - but that is why the Lord Lucan mystery continues to entice. Absolutely anything is possible - including, even, the simply unbelievable idea that Zorra the tiger had him for breakfast.
