I think that God in creating Man somewhat overestimated his ability.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Due to having posted a more triumphantly heroic version of it on ninakat's (thankfully) not-quite-going-away thread, I'm listening to one of the most completely defeated and ostensibly ironic love songs in all pop music!
Oh, man. What a sad, sad song that is. Especially after 3:14 or so. It's pretty unambiguously an act of heroism for that guy even to have any feelings, I'd say.***
______________
***Meaning "the guy from whose POV it's being sung," not the sphinx-like Mr. Bowie himself. It probably really is ironically titled as far as he's concerned. That's just not the point. If it were, he wouldn't admit to it.

Sphinx?
That's an easy riddle to answer.
I love Bowie.
Gotta make way.
Although him an' Ozzy both mispronounce "Crowley."
Gaze into the Rock Pool of Galadriel;

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I love that whole record***, but have an extra soft spot for this:
Such a blatant "I'm Waiting for the Man"/"White Light, White Heat" rip-off. And yet so delightful.
To be honest, though, I'm enough of a cliche for this REALLY to be my favorite early-ish era Bowie song:
And I don't even care how embarrassingly many millions of once and present-day angst-y kids who also knew he was talking to them the second they heard that song must be walking around out there by now. We're all right. And also not alone. I sincerely hope he lives forever.

if you like the laughing gnome...
(that's OSCAR, but there's a demo version of that floating around too recorded by young Davie Jones)

Nice one JD.
Actually, mostly I'm listening to myself playing the recorder.
I stole a child's recorder.*
Yes, I'm evil.
Patron of thieves?
Any Way.
I'm piping the themes from Kung Fu and The Water Margin.
'Cos Jose Arguelles don't have the fingers no more.
I still hear the tunes he plays, though.
* Don't worry. I give it back when asked. I mostly just borrow.
