CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper said via Twitter on Thursday that he received a parcel from the former Los Angeles police officer wanted in connection with a series of shootings that have left three people dead and two wounded.

Cooper shared the news on the social media website around 3 p.m.

“Learned today suspect Christopher Dorner sent me a parcel at CNN,” Cooper tweeted. “Inside was a note, DVD, and a coin shot thru with bullet holes.”

Cooper did not immediately release any additional information.

[Updated at 4:57 p.m., Feb. 7: In a video posted on CNN’s website, Cooper said the parcel arrived on Feb. 1 with a hand-labeled DVD and a yellow Post-It note reading in part “I never lied!” Anderson said he was first made aware of the package today.]

Weird story. Haven't been able to pay much attention but it's hard to avoid here in the IE. Anyway I heard this afternoon that the guy supposedly sent a manifesto to who else, Anderson "VOA" Cooper of CNN in February. Sigh, I was kind of hoping this wouldn't be another big hmm but hmmm.......

That unabridged manifesto is 100% lucid, about 15% trifling, maybe 25% terrifying, 10% hilarious, 30% poignant, 40% inspiring, 85% righteous, and 1000% badass. Something like that. Deciding to murder anyone for just about any reason is very, very bad. Shame on him for that. But otherwise, as these things go, pretty fucking awesome.

Agreed. Whilst some might argue that fighting the kind of insanity that Dorner finds himself confronted with, in similar fashion to the perps is the only way to make his his point, I would disagree.

If how he claims things went down is how it really went down, and he sounds angry enough to suggest that this is the case, then he strikes me as someone who simply isnt prepared to wait another several reincarnations before humanity might collectively decide that they've had enough of this kind of evil and stupidity in postions of power. I guess AFA Dorner is concerned time certainly does appear to be running out kinda fast, both for him and the rest of us. About the only thing that appears palpably obvious is that things are certainly gonna have to get a lot worse before they get any better, and sacrifices will have to be made unless we're very smart - perhaps more importantly very unified- about how to get the change required

A genuine true story movie of this mans experiences, would be extremely thought provoking for sure. But of course you aint gonna get that, unfortuneately.

The number of shots fired during the Jan. 20 gunfight involving Washington County law enforcement officers and an off-duty Hillsboro cop in Forest Grove is "closer to 100," police said Thursday.

Timothy Cannon kept out of sight from officers. He "constantly" changed his upstairs position in a stairwell, blocking the only path leading both out of the home and toward his wife and daughter, Herb said.

Just before 9:03 p.m., a dispatcher noted that shots were fired. Timothy Cannon was firing his personal AR-15, Herb said.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Timothy Cannon was upstairs as he fired through walls, trying to find the officers. Police fired handguns and AR-15 rifles through walls. Lisa Cannon and her daughter were not in the line of fire, Herb said.

The area that the truck was found is the red flame icon, the shooting's reported area is the green pin.


Just a reminder, Dorner's truck was found at 8:30-9:00 am 2/7/2013. He has a demolitions background, so it was probably rigged to burn as a distraction.

San Diego authorities are looking at possible charges after determining that a reported sighting of fugitive ex-police officer Christopher Dorner -- an incident that prompted a six-hour search -- was a hoax.

A cellphone call about 10:20 p.m. Thursday led deputies to respond to a home near the Barona Indian Reservation, said San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Jason Rothlein. Authorities were able to enter the home early Friday morning and confirmed that Dorner was not inside, he said.

The caller initially reported a suspicious person, later claimed there were gang members in the area, then said the suspicious person was the caller's brother, he said. The caller then said the suspicious person was a man wanted for murder, was someone on the news, and finally claimed the reported person was Dorner.

Dorner, 33, is wanted in connection with a double homicide in Irvine on Sunday and the shooting of three police officers, one fatally, in Riverside County on Thursday. Authorities described him as "armed and extremely dangerous," and alerts about him were issued across the state and in Nevada as federal, state and local authorities intensified their search.

Deputies had "no indication Dorner was, is or has even been at that residence," Rothlein said.

The cache confirms that the long version is legit. If anything it was as much bait for the media to keep it playing longer. Anderson Cooper and possibly others have gotten the manifesto and dvd's about the alleged use of force by Evans.

Calif. schools closed where ex-cop's truck found

..BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) — Law enforcement officers are continuing to search a snow-covered mountain near a Southern California ski area for a fired Los Angeles police officer suspected of three murders.

San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon says the hunt will go on until Christopher Dorner is found or there's evidence that he's left the mountain.

Searchers Friday are dealing with falling snow and freezing temperatures in the Big Bear Lake region of the San Bernardino Mountains.

The manhunt focused on Big Bear after Dorner's burned-out pickup was found on a forest road Thursday.

Yeah, the vehicle was reported on the morning of 2/7/13 between 8:30 am to 9:00 am (forum has no goddamn timeline app). News helicopters were watching SWAT drop in and search the area around the vehicle at around 12:00pm, very difficult to get to because of the trucks remote location. They got out snipers, bloodhounds and did house to house searches and roadblocks, nothing was found. It was likely set up as a decoy, as the police in 3 states as well as Mexico are now looking for him. LAPD has gone as far as searching the sewers for him.

I guess its like in the movies when the anti hero blasts up a whole area trying to get the bad guy, its acceptable there's some collateral.

Anyways, the last time there was an African American former soldier allegedly shooting people in a serial spree mass media hyped event, the US went to war a few months later.
