If Hugh had been me, he would've thought that movie was a KWH of himself, lol. But really.
I do love that scene. (And the pre-apples bar scene, of course.) Good movie, really, overall.
(I seriously, seriously doubt those two Cambridge princesses wrote it all, fwiw.)
As for the pessimism expressed, how the once-lively-and-defiant grow stiff and dead, or how young anti-authoritarian poseurs "grow up" to shill for more bitter, "mature" truths, or how it's only getting worse, always worse, or whatever the theme of those pretty lines is: I'd post the lyrics to "The Rose" as some kind of retort, but that'd be corny.
