I took a look at Altered Minds and I'm not sure what to think. There were some interesting posts but I'm concerned about dogmatic, robotic, overly ideological thinking both on the left and right--and there seemed to be plenty of that (right wing version). I guess having a sort of right-wing wing of RI can't hurt, as long as they stick to internet discussion and don't launch themselves into pursuits such as organizing a meme factory, troll army creation, etc.

I have to say though that, IMHO, anyone who, after an in depth look, continues to give serious credence to Pizzagate is operating from damaged reasoning ability and/ or is sitting on unexamined anger that clouds their capacity for empathy and love and drives them to spew hateful theories.

To clarify, I don't mean that there couldn't have been child abusers in the PG mix, but the way the accusations were wielded was a form of meme-terrorism concocted to elevate a con artist candidate to POTUS. And, thanks to the abysmal level of political awareness and discourse in the US of A the operation had success. Sad.

That said, the former RI posters that I was able to identify on Altered Minds didn't really bother me when they were here. Discussions between people with with different views and political leanings can be fruitful. Ok I admit that I don't always have time to pay super-close attention but the posters who have left that I definitely don't miss don't seem to be posting on AM.

Hey SLAD, I started work on a free-form poem earlier as a general comment on this thread.
I'm not sure if I like it, or if it's appropriate, so I didn't post it but instead just saved it as an unfinished draft.
When you get a chance, could you do your magical forum-power thingy that allegedly lets you read drafts and PMs and just tell me what you think? I was trying to write it from the voice of the alt-right, but I'm not sure I've spent enough time in such depths to really get the tone correct. Thanks in advance.

p.s. I will get to your draft soon mentalgongfu2 ..I am really behind in my scouring of pms/posts/drafts ....adding un needed punctuation...a few extra smilies...and an occasional misspelling is really time consuming....but absolutely necessary to make me look better by comparison
