Re: Where's SLAD?
Back on topic, I periodically need to unplug myself from the online and broadcast world, especially the political part of it. I hope that SLAD is well and that we will read something from her soon.

Re: Where's SLAD?
I hope SLAD is just taking a break and hasn't decided to leave. When I first became active on RI (which isn't too long ago), she was one of the most welcoming people here to me, and she often shared a lot of valuable content for the CAVDEF thread. And I know many of us here, including myself at some points, had heated disagreements with her, but I appreciate the differing perspective she brings. She's an integral part of this forum who I wouldn't want to see go.

I recall the pre-2016 SLAD fondly. The post-2016 Russiagate-afflicted version of SLAD, less so.
Differing perspectives are valuable to any forum, and despite allusions to the contrary, differing perspectives are absolutely welcome here.
But open dialogue is preferred over, say, reams and reams of what amount to state-sponsored propaganda provided often without comment, at face-value; such behavior is not conducive to forum discourse.
Neither is claiming 'territory' ("get off my lawn! - go set up and tend to your own lawn, leave mine alone") over thread topics while engaging in various disruptive tactics to snuff out counterpoints raised when others attempt to address the content of the myriad copypasta.
Etc, etc.
I'm confident any animosity displayed towards SLAD was largely due to the above M.O., not SLAD the person. That said, I imagine a number of us would gladly take back negative commentary directed her way, typed in the 'heat of battle'; I certainly do.
This is all merely my take on it, of course, but felt this 'elephant in the room' needed to be addressed, as the above perspective highlights much of SLAD's oeuvre the last couple years, which in turn clearly impacted this forum's dynamic given how prolific she's been.

Re: Where's SLAD?
There is an irony in that now that Slad has stopped posting, her "The Impeachment of President Donald J Trump" thread lies idle while the talk of impeaching him has grown feverish among the Dems of late. Reminds me of the case of the boy who called wolf....we've heard it so often we are no longer taking it seriously.

Re: Where's SLAD?
Has no one heard anything from her, of her or about her? That's fine if she doesn't want to tell particulars. But this IS a community and she is missed.
