Now THAT'S a d00zy!
That sure flew-out & caught my eye also.

Was CFR membership a perk that qualified her for the CNN news-anchor job?
I wonder how that works, 'zactly.

This is a quality thread and I want to reply on a few points, but in brief, my theory on Dennis Miller's turn (discussed on page 2) is that he was never a very naturally intelligent guy who did his own research. He was a comedian whose emotions used to allow him to respond one way (pre-fascist) to provided pre-packaged analysis, but because he did not perform any original research, his output shifted when his input did. Same can go for Bill O'Reilly as he related to his old JFK theories – do I think he fully grasped what he was saying? No, not really. But one can also buy or build a fascist with enough money or loaned power.

The change can apply the other way – we have countless examples of fascists awakening because they read a book.

The Dennis Miller hypothesis has happened to someone I'm very close with and have known all my life – a lifelong Kennedian moderate, with spoken ideals of selflessness and human rights, turned about as far right as one can imagine under the tutelage of Michael Savage. In his former life, the man couldn't have written an essay on his own beliefs without plagiarizing, and therefore is destined to be maneuvered wherever the winds take him. I'm sure it's not a new idea to anyone here, and there's probably a term for it that I don't know, but it about sums up the reason why I thought that a stronger public education system was the solution to many of our problems.

Former CNN Anchor Kitty Pilgrim on Her New Novel ‘The Stolen Chalice’ (Q&A)
She talks about her new “romantic thriller,” making the leap from journalist to novelist and traveling the world for research.

Kitty Pilgrim, the CNN-anchor-turned-novelist, has a new book out, The Stolen Chalice, a follow up to her 2011 debut, The Explorer's Code, which continues the adventures of archeologist John Sinclair and Oceanographer Cordelia.

THR's 5 July Book Picks: Jagger, Jack Kennedy

Pilgrim, who is also a member of New York City’s famed Explorer’s Club and the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations in addition to being a former news anchor, talked with The Hollywood Reporter about her "romantic thriller," making the leap from reporter to novelist and traveling the world for research...

It's rather curious that this former low-level news anchor at CNN also happens to be a member of the CFR :?:

CIA and the Media, by Carl Bernstein 10/20/77 Rolling Stone

If you had 1 message to save the world? - CIA=Media
Another pretty media kitten ala Angelina Jolie? I suppose these ladies must be useful to CFR in some way.

Something I've been noticing for a few years now, is the proliferation of "fake" names in high profile positions. "Kitty Pilgrim" ? really? Real name? There are many other examples, but I don't keep a list handy, so watch for it yourself :partyhat

These names sound like something out of a book or movie, "made up" - Maybe there's a whole Pilgrim family out there, but it's a name I've never seen in use outside of made up things.

If its real, it's a total wasp / dar name. Though I somehow doubt the existence of a real "Pilgrim" family too.

well, yeah, it's a real family name, not on the common side but real.

still sounds "charactery"

a favorite example... Lance Lord of US Space Command! no one could make that up for a story, anyone would cross that out as too unbelievable, but it's real

This is definitely going on my must-miss list.

And, while breezing over Bugliosi's résumé how could they skip The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder? I really have to wonder what the hell is going on with Bugliosi.

Doubting Landesman
I'm not the only one questioning the TimesMagazine's sex-slave story.

By Jack Shafer|Posted Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at 7:19 PM ET

Click here for links to all of Slate's pieces about Landesman's sex-slave article, New York Times Magazine Editor Gerald Marzorati's defense of the article, and Daniel Radosh's blog entry.

Upon rereading Peter Landesman's New York TimesMagazine cover story, "The Girls Next Door," viewing the transcripts of his appearances on NPR's Fresh Airand CNN's American Morning, and corresponding with readers, I've got several new observations and questions to add to yesterday's "Press Box" column ("Sex Slaves of West 43rd Street"). For those who've joined the parade late, yesterday's column rained a shower of doubt on Landesman's descriptions of the American sex-slave trade and his view that it is pervasive, with perhaps tens of thousands enslaved...

On Fresh Air, Landesman damages Andrea's status as a source when he mentions that she "suffers from multiple personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder," facts not contained in his Magazine piece. If this is the case, how much of Andrea's story should we believe? Were his editors aware of the mental condition of one of his primary sources? Has Landesman corroborated any of her testimony or is he taking it all at face value?

In his piece, Landesman vaguely alludes to the locations of operating "stash houses" that hold sex slaves, and on American Morning he broadcast the location of yet another, saying:

And let me throw you one more address that I couldn't get into the story for legal reasons. But try the Upper East Side of Manhattan in the East 80s, a brownstone nine blocks from where my parents live, actually.

Why on Earth he's giving vague directions to a slave den to CNN viewers instead of phoning them to police, he doesn't explain. And if it's such a hot tip, why didn't the Times publish it? ...

Yesterday, Naomi Klein. Today, Kevin Kline. hmmm.....

Post by Hugh Manatee Wins » Thu Sep 20, 2007 12:30 am

Hmm. I heard Naomi Klein on the radio yesterday and was mistakenly writing 'Kline' before I caught my mistake. But today, gosh! - here is an actual real Kline as a featured story promoting a movie based on an article written for...TIME Magazine. aHA! Now there's a magazine that's been a CIA rag since the days of Henry Luce so I think, yees, I've caught another one here.

Arms and the Man

Peter Landesman • New York Times Magazine • August 2003

The author sits down with notorious (and recently convicted) arms dealer Viktor Bout, Bout’s brother, and a close friend:

“Bout, who is 36, six feet tall and somewhat expansive in girth, nimbly made his way through the crowded lounge. He didn't shake my hand as much as grip it, with a firm nod. Icy blue eyes like chips of glass punctuated a baby face. We sat on one of the lounge's dingy couches, and he placed a thick folder of papers on his lap...

I think I'll gladly miss this series:

I've considered this the best material on the subject

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsMKMMlleOE - JFK II - The Bush Connection (it has prison planet/info wars water marks, which I avoid like the plague, but still good material and old clips)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jax13K4jRwY - Dark Legacy (highlights), same material and narrator

The updated version "Dark Legacy" is on Netflix Streaming.

They are exactly right when they say JFK is just one of those guys that gets "written about," since his criminal killers got away with it. The winners write and rewrite history and they are in charge. Not until 2029, when the criminals can no longer be brought to justice, will anyone be able to see the JFK Assassination Files.
