Not panicking, I was just baffled! lol
This claim that Stephen Paddock was a "misanthrope" is based mainly on a single statement by a single waiter, who claimed that SP was disrespectful to his girlfriend Marilou Danley. Paddock's sin? He had insisted on paying for her meal.
US news is becoming increasingly indistinguishable from The Onion.

Area Man (64) Insists On Paying For Wife's Meal
In an act of unparalleled brutality that has left Las Vegas reeling, Stephen Paddock, 64, insisted on picking up the tab for both himself and his female companion Marilou Danley, 62.
"It just totally shocked me", said waiter Morrissey Smith, 20. "He, like, totally overrode her wishes. I thought that kind of thing had died out centuries ago, in, like, Hitler's time."
In a written statement to the world's press, Ms Danley described Mr Paddock as "a kind, gentle man" whom she had known for years and with whom she was hoping to share the rest of her life.
Despite repeated requests from The Onion, Mr Paddock himself refused to comment. His relatives cited sudden violent death as the reason.

I've witnessed the reaction to gunfire in a large outdoor crowd up close, and I'd say there was a window of up to maybe two minutes when that picture could have been taken just after the initial bolting of the crowd.stickdog99 » Thu Oct 19, 2017 10:49 pm wrote:Given all the reports of Good Samaritans springing into action that I just linked. when exactly could the above picture have been taken?

I'm no psychotherapist, but it seems to me, if Paddock was a true sociopath like his father allegedly was, he probably wouldn't be into suicide missions.
Also, if he was a misanthrope, what was he doing in packed casinos all day? FFS. He could play video poker at home, in his underwear, or maybe like that dude in Boonies, a true misanthrope who lives in a cave in the Ozarks.

Mac, you're fun to read when you're on topic and making points on the issues.
Unfortunately you spend a lot time criticizing and speculating on your cohorts here.
Why man? Its a waste of effort.
You can do, and have done, so much better.
Attack the issues, please. You are good at that!

No, it is not.MacCruiskeen wrote:This claim that Stephen Paddock was a "misanthrope" is based mainly on a single statement
It is based on the assumption that he murdered 50 some people.
Everything else would be supportive or dismissive evidence.

Yes we assume he murdered a lot of people, but his motive for doing so is currently a mystery. Shooters like that usually have a history of mental illness and/or have alleged ties to terrorist organisations. Saying, well he avoided controlled areas when flying and he liked asian women, doesn't do much in the way of explaining that mystery away imo. And that's just one of the many mysteries in all of this. We'll never know anyway. Seems like showing dominance over the people and letting them know in their gut what's up by the mysteries while denying it on the surface with the official 'normal' narrative.

Still not certain Paddock even did this, but...
... we can't rule out a history of mental illness, he may never have sought treatment.
Yes the evidence of his personal traits are sparse.
With the few clues we have, and assuming he was the shooter,
I think it is easy and fair to assume he had some misanthropic tendencies.
The fact he gambled every day for hours in a casino would actually support this pov, rather than oppose it.
Though that was Brentos statement not yours 0_0.

Not officially but it was revealed early that he worked for the notorious terrorist organization Lockheed Martin.PufPuf93 » Sat Oct 21, 2017 5:44 pm wrote:Have we ever been told if Paddock spent time in the military?0_0 » Sat Oct 21, 2017 10:04 am wrote:Yes we assume he murdered a lot of people, but his motive for doing so is currently a mystery. And, as bad as they are, some of the people they associate with are even much worse.
I would sell guns and drugs right out of the casino, and launder the money without leaving the building. But that's just me.
I would have real estate all over the country, and provide hideouts to anyone who needed one, wherever they wanted, for as long as they wanted, because I'm just that kind of guy.
I don't even mind if people think I'm a misanthrope. People can be so narrow-minded.

In reply to the bolded part. We certainly don't. Not all of us.0_0 » Sat Oct 21, 2017 12:04 pm wrote:Yes we assume he murdered a lot of people, but his motive for doing so is currently a mystery. Indeed. In fact, what you're saying is a massive understatement. We have been offered precisely nothing in the way of explanation. Just the kind of posthumous defamation, flat-out character-assassination, tinpot psychologizing, and slimily suggestive innuendo that always forms the inscription on any Designated Culprit's gravestone.Saying, well he avoided controlled areas when flying and he liked asian women, doesn't do much in the way of explaining that mystery away imo.
