Re: Respect ! Talk about Irony -- fully lyrics are spooky!
Jerky, yer old pal Sade had it right. Turns out that this song was her own composition (unlike all the rest of the songs on her 1984 album!) and seem to describe our Decider-in-Chief's history and character TO A TEE! Especially for his GOP "lovers" who finally seem to have clued in that EVEN TO THEM, he's really the:

Smooth Operator
He's laughing with another girl
And playing with another heart.
Placing high stakes, making hearts ache.
He's loved in seven languages.
Diamond nights and ruby lights, high in the sky.
Heaven help him, when he falls.

Diamond life, lover boy.
We move in space with minimum waste and maximum joy.
City lights and business nights.
When you require streetcar desire for higher heights.

No place for beginners or sensitive hearts
When sentiment is left to chance.
No place to be ending but somewhere to start.

No need to ask.
He's a smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator.

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male.
Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale.

Face to face, each classic case.
We shadow box and double cross,
Yet need the chase.

A license to love, insurance to hold.
Melts all your memories and change into gold.
His eyes are like angels but his heart is cold.

No need to ask.
He's a smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator.

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male.
Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale.

Smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator,
smooth operator...

The best line of course:

"Heaven help him, when he falls. Streams in real audio. good show from the guy that does a lot of the voices on the Simpsons. You'll get a good laugh out of the bit towards the end when bush and shwartzy (calif gov) are talking about Hu's visit.

Sleeve Tug
Now that Sepka has weighed in with the "nothing unusual here" point of view, I feel compelled to balance that by mentioning the oft-referenced comment of someone in the know, FDR I believe: "if it happens in politics, it was meant to happen".

The Falun Gong raver, playing the Taiwan national anthem, the tug on the sleeve....I can just see the smirking weasal smile on Rove after the event.

Re: Sleeve Tug
Hu was at one point refered to by bush or some other official as president of the Republic of China (which is the offical name of tiwan). It's mentioned in the harry shearer show

Edited by: anotherdrew at: 4/26/06 1:57 am
