One of the reasons Christian fascists have managed to ascend as far as they have in American society is that they have not been held accountable-enough for their words.
Since many (if not most) Christians have been told to understand themselves as representatives of Christ on earth, Tea Party Jesus takes this seriously — and puts the words of Christians who are also fascists directly into the mouth of Christ, who they claim to represent. That way, the truly shocking shit that spews forth from them (which we've become used to, in large measure) can be can be seen in all its ridiculously grotesque "glory."
Inappropriate? Perhaps. But to claim to be a Christian, while nevertheless saying and doing the kinds of things that are often said and done, is far more inappropriate — worst of all is that these things are often given a free pass in the false name of "tolerance."
And yes, many on the so-called "left" say a lot of evil things too, while still claiming to represent Christ on earth. It seems to me that they should be held accountable for their words also.

Almost every person who became 'famous' with their 9/11 stories was a fundie xian or a zionist. The ones who rant about morality all the time are usually the most immoral people on earth.

How true. And their definition of "morality" seems always so notably narrow.
(Or "con-veeeeen-ient," as the Church Lady might say.)

Many will say to Me on That day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?"

What's so astounding to me is how someone can be such a hippocryte (why can't I spell that word today?) and not even know it?
What kind of mental problem does that display? I know people who do this who are not necessarily stupid, but it's like they have some wires crossed to the point where they can be one of these people.
I don't get it.

I sometimes wonder if it is the idea that if you focus too much on something, you can create the opposite.

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's. And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him. -- Mark
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet. -- Acts

He spent a couple of nights in the White House Residence, too, as I remember, under George H. W. Bush.
(Well, I'm not sure exactly if "under George H. W. Bush" was his actual location at the time, but hey! — anything's possible.)

thanks for this, s.m.; this is one of the most important--and most ignored--passages in the new testament.
have a beautiful weekend
