Nordic poking Hugh

It's been pretty non-stop, and I know Hugh is a problem unto himself, but I think Nordic has been crossing the line lately into content-free ad hominem.

I've had issues with Hugh, but they're conversations. What's the best way to proceed here? I know I'm in the minority on Hugh, to the extent that I am both sympathetic to his core thesis and believe him to be genuine in his obsessions, IE not a mere troll. Just the same, he has been spectacularly disruptive and shows a bizarre horse sense for toeing the line just enough to avoid an outright ban.

To top it off, the Titanoboa thread is one of the dumbest HMW has contributed in recent memory. Arf.

Yeah, it's a dumb thread, but I deleted Nordic's titty post anyways. Hugh has recently been at least attempting to toe the line of the rules by starting discrete threads on his more outlandish notions, and to that extent desreves the same courtesy and moderation as anyone else. Nordic trolls him because he can get away with it, but I personally have little love for Nordic, so I don't mind seeing him censured for his bologna.

I agree that Hugh's threads should be Hugh's threads. He does seem to respond to positive reinforcement. Nordic tends to be the Dreyfus to Hugh's Clouseau. Unfortunate.

Over and over and over Nordic posts disruptive ad hominem attacks with no relevance to thread subject.
Considering the many many times my posts have been deleted and I've been banned for a week...over posting genuine science and history directly relevant to posts....it is time to show the same stern hand to a REAL recidivist disruptor.

BTW, I lean sorta squarely in line with your assessment here, once I come to the point of accepting Hugh as a real person rather than a construction. He's not a mere troll, or a pure troll, but, lord, he does troll, there's no doubt about that. He goes after Nordic with his own brand of gusto, too, on Nordic's threads.

The guy is, I believe, mentally ill. Is that really cool, to keep the guy around so we can laugh at him?
