Any '93 Phillies Fans Out There?

Post by vondardenelle »

Darren Daulton has seen the light and is trying to get the message out about the world ending at 11:11am (GMT) on 12/21/12. Also says he was run off the road because of a business deal with ties to the FBI and Whitehouse-

www.philly.com/mld/philly...894089.htm

sounds like Dutch experienced something which changed him and he sounds pretty good depite his problems, which, you know, is good.

Baseball as an esoteric ritual, now THAT'S interesting.

Too bad that the picture is a bit off:

1) the basemen never play on the bases while the batter is up-- they play off the bags. So the third baseman is to the right and a bit behind the bag, the second baseman is between second base and first base, and the first baseman is off the bag and behind it a bit. In this case, since the batter is left handed and could pull the ball, the first baseman is probably going to be closer to the foul line.

2) Depending on which side of the Mississippi the stadium is in, the Sun and Moon should probably be reversed. The dugout for the home team is usually on the right side when the home team (and thus the Stadium) is on the east of the Mississippi and on the west side when west of the Mississippi.

3) The umpires should be show in their positions as well as they play an important part in the ritual.

4) There are 2 "statio expectationes", not one. There is an identical one on the other side of the diamond.
