Did it ever occur to you, Osculum, that to simply be capable of using the word "slave" without shaking like a leaf took me close to a year? Or that I might be using it to be precise and accurate about the opinion of MC survivors that the Controllers hold?
Nope. Instead, I'm attempting to deliberately trigger people....! Think again...this is how "survivor wars" are begun and I'd prefer not to do that here at Jeff's board.
Still, when you make an accusation like the one above, you give me an opportunity to clarify points that are important if people are to understand mind control programs. In this case--triggers and the tendency for our damage to make us overly-suspicious and over-ready to be assume the worst of each other's motives.
In a thread about government mind control, I tend not to post trigger warnings. That's because I assume that any survivor of any kind of torture that included trigger programming is automatically aware that the discourse is going to inevitably contain terms that might be triggers. Perhaps that's a mistake on my part. The problem is that
every single post I make would then have to have *TRIGGER WARNING* as its first line
Do you really believe that would be helpful?
And even then, anyone who's looking for a fight will still be able to accuse me of posting triggers with malice aforthought, won't they? I'm not and never have. But thank you for bringing the subject up so that I can post some links and talk about it.
Triggers are programmed into survivors of Ritual Abuse, whether it's govt. sponsored or private Cult programs. They allow instant penetration of a survivor's defenses with a single word or gesture. That sort of control over another human being is what sociopaths exist for, so it's done carefully and often in a very systematic way, so that it can be used by handlers working in a variety of related programs.
When a trigger is used correctly, the result is instantaneous. I tend to react by blanking out and losing time (due to alter switching) myself. But other survivors have told me that for them it causes panic attacks that are incapacitating--they retain consciousness, but are very vulnerable as they struggle to regain control of their bodies, which are in full fight-or-flight mode.
Again--
it is not possible to discuss mind control in depth without using some of those words. If the discussion avoids all of them (there are hundreds, if not thousands of them), then it will of necessity be very superficial or impossibly wordy and difficult to read, as the author struggles to find synonyms for all of them.
Triggers are known about and used in NLP and its forms used in merchandising, too, but those are very different from the words MC handlers use on their subjects. The effects are similar though--a person is manipulated and their free will is suspended. To me, that is never excusable and is profoundly unethical, but many people disagree with me on that....mostly people who've never survived a MC program.
Triggers have been deliberately used on survivors in the thread on MC that I tend on the Black Vault. If you're still unclear on whether or not I am posting them, I invite you to go there and read--the sociopaths there actually brag about doing it

Handlers are more subtle, but their intent is pretty clear once you know their aims. Recognizing your own triggers is very empowering and can sharply reduce their effects, so that's what I try to do when it happens to me.
I'm still too triggered by it to read it through, but the Springmeier/Wheeler material is the most complete collection of specific triggers available online. It goes without saying that most survivors should not read it, but friends may be willing to search it for you--that's what I do --
